Would appreciate any comments you have after your recent visit to Heartbeat Club in Soi Wall St. I'll be in Bangkok in January, looking for twinks. Thanks.

I went recently - excellent bar, many cute, slim and young boys, which are difficult to find in BKK. If you like the twink type, Heartbeat & Classic are the best options in BKK.

Soi Wall Street (location of Wall Street Inn) is off Surivongse, almost directly opposite Soi Twilight. See Nicky's maps: http://www.nickysgaythailand.com/gay-ba ... map-n-sil/ (http://www.nickysgaythailand.com/gay-bangkok/n-silom/map-n-sil/)

drinks are said to be 250-but ask/tell at door you are too poor and they will lower it to 200-but check bill, than-wont apply to boysdrinks.
Most Thai gay mags have coupons for free offs from there.
Opinions vary, but the majority are negative-the usual overloud music, pushy sells/rents etc.

Pong - who cares about the music or the mamasan in a bar... Boys make 99.99% of the interest in a boy bar, not the surroundings... if you like slimmer/prettier boys, there's aren't many options in Bangkok, loud music or not. Most bars have mostly built-up more muscular boys - nothing wrong with that, but some variety is good. Loud music, so what...

I will give it a try...I have two days in Bangkok in three weeks time.
One question (and I suppose it refers to all the bars in the area)....if I wander in at about 2130, will I be in the excruciating position of being the only spectator? I find the prospect of twenty sets of eyes fixed on me, desperately hoping for an off, distinctly unappealing.

Sorry, assurances are not available for this situation. Most of us share your feelings. The boys are all staring at you with faces on auto-smile, each one waiting for you to discern his exceptional good looks. The natural human reaction is to be somewhat intimidated. If you're the only customer in the bar, the mamasan will probably be at your side offering suggestions. You could chat with him while glancing at the boys on stage, even buy him a drink. When the boys see that you are not totally focused on them, they might relax and give you a chance to observe them in a more natural state. Perhaps other posters will be able to offer more suggestions for this all too common predicament.

I dislike being the only customer in a gogo, with all the boys looking and not really dancing. Mamasans will pounce looking for drinks and pointing out their boys attributes. Some places allow you to have a little peep, but usually not enough to fully assess the situation, and once inside it takes a brave man to immediately turn round and walk out, which is a sort of insult.
If this problem bothers you it's better only to go gogo hopping at busy times (maybe 9.30 to 11.30).
I don't often visit Bangkok but if I do Soi Wall St will be on the agenda and Im pleased to have seen this thread.
