At 6am Friday December 6th a few ambulances with drivers were at the front entrance of the Bangok Pattaya Hospital, an entrance that is normally closed at this hour of the morning. Circling around the side emergency entrance several nurses and orderlies could be seen milling around outside that entrance. The rear entrance looked quiet but once inside the smoke permiated everywhere and was coming down the hallway from what was reported to be a fire from the center section of the hospital. When leaving at 1pm from the rear entrance smoke was still causing people to have breathing problems and coming down from the front area most likely caused by fans and the ventilation system. The extent of the damage, where the fire was limited to and the estimate of damage is still to early to tell.

You should believe your b/f. Also I am sure you remember I am on dialysis and therefore am at the Bangkok - Pattaya Hospital every other day. I arrive at the hospital between 5:30 am and 6 am and therefore am reporting what I SAW and the smoke I had to breathe to get into the dialysis center.

I understand. You did not say this was an eyewitness report and Friday the 6th through me a curve too. Hopefully, we should see some reports in the English press. Wishing you good health.

Thank you but thank God where I have my treatments done is in the back part of the hospital and not in the center and also on the third floor so not even the smoke was able to get up there. I was able to get the treatment although some may have wanted it deemed unusable!

Let's hope that the construction company appointed to do the repairs at the hospital ensure that the hospital has adequate insurance to cover the cost of the repairs before commencing any work.

Plus they keep accurate records of labor and materials, ie. 74 nails, 456 rivets etc, thus resulting in a 275 page invoice on completion.

We were at the hospital both Thursday and Friday. Both times we entered through the emergency/ambulance entrance and there was a strong smell of smoke although I didn't see any evidence of fire.

I'm going in on the 11th for a couple of days stay. I hope that smell doesn't reach my room. It's the sort of thing that gives you a headache after awhile.
