Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts upcoming epic movie "The Impossible" is set to start hitting cinema screens in the coming months.

The movie stars Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive, The Ring) as Maria, Ewan McGregor (Star Wars, Trainspotting) as Henry and Tom Holland (Billy Elliot the Musical) as Lucas.

Both epic and intimate, devastating and uplifting, "The Impossible" is a journey to the core of the human heart. Based on a remarkable true story, "The Impossible" is the unforgettable story of a Spanish family who begin their Christmas vacation in Thailand, when on December the 26th 2004, they're caught up with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time.

As the family becomes separated, the true-life terror is tempered by the unexpected displays of compassion, courage and simple kindness that Maria and her family encounter during the darkest hours of their lives.

The movie has been Directed by the brilliant Juan Antonio Bayona, and has been written by Sergio G. S├бnchez

Looks like a great film - for anyone interested releases in the UK on the 2nd January 2013, release dates for many other Countries ( although surprisingly not Thailand though ?) can be found at the following website......http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1649419/releaseinfo

I mentioned on another forum, I do not wish to see it and I don't know if others have the same view. Just knowing the title and seeing the first picture makes me so sad to remember I want to cry let alone go see the trailer or movie. I will leave that to the next generation.

I totally agree with DaBoss. I also do not want to be grahpically reminded of the tragedy that killed or injured so many people, some whom I knew personally.
