Hey so I'm a Nineteen year old Aussie, planning a trip to Thailand for mid next year with one other friend.
Just wanted a few tips and tricks to holidaying in Thailand, specifically Pattong Beach in Phuket.. and I think we're going to possibly head out to Bangkok as well.
I have a few questions as well, so maybe some people could help answer them for me.

Is it okay to go clubbing in Bangkok and take a taxi home to Pattong beach, or are they separate islands or expensive to take a taxi between these two places.

Generally how much is a taxi to Bangkok from Pattong beach?

And this is a bit of an odd question I guess, but I'm not counting on hooking up with anyone when I'm over there, because I'm going with a friend, and its kind of awkward, but we're both gay so its.. fine on some level, but is it possible to meet local guys over there in the club who aren't expecting you to pay to off them. I mean, being young and it'd be my first time overseas by myself, so I may mess around a little, but I'd feel too guilty if I were to pay for offing or extras in a massage, which I don't think I ever will do, because.. my morals are pretty high.. somewhat. I don't want to be offensive, I don't judge anyone who does, at all, but I would judge myself.

I have an allergy to Peanuts, are there any dishes I should avoid, or a phrase in Thai I could learn that would translate to "I am deadly allergic to Peanuts, are there any Peanuts in this dish/food, could you please make sure that the utensils used to cook, were not contaminated with Peanuts or Peanut oil"

I really want to meet locals my age over there, just to hang out with. Possibly lady-boys too, because my friend and I really want a drag queen friend (Double standard seeing as I hate girls who just want a gay friend, but ah well), but would this be too hard to do seeing as I've heard that most of the lady-boys and the youth in the clubs are all escorts, and with a language barrier they might think I'm wanting to pay to off them or something

But yeah, if anyone has any tips, tricks, ideas or suggestions for what I need to do over there. Like clubs and site seeing wise, I wouldn't mind a good list of cool things to do.
Also are there any cool festivals over there.. or concerts?

Well, first of all, I think you're taking the piss - but on the off chance you're just incredibly naive, I'll bite:

No offence, but since you think Bangkok is an island and propose taking a taxi from Bangkok to Patong Beach, I would suggest the purchase of an Atlas or googling "Map of Thailand" should be placed high on your "to do" list.
If you do this you'll quickly see that unless you intend to buy an air-ticket for the taxi - or hire Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as your mode of transport, you're going to have some difficulty as there is the small matter of almost 900km and the Andaman Sea to contend with.

Also, I'd respectfully suggest you re-examine those high moral standards you claim to have - it seems to me you anticipate having no problem with casual sex with people you don't know, and that you're willing to have sex with a massage boy or a boy from a club - you just don't want to pay for it! In other words, you're embracing promiscuity and haggling only about the price. That sounds like a lot of fun, but it's rather odd coming from a person who says their "morals are pretty high".

Hope you have a good time ..first time is allways the best but in answer to first questian....Phuket is nowhere near Bangkok ..it takes an hour on a plane from one to the other...its like hundreds of miles appart
so a taxi would be no use..so i suggest staying in Bangkok and then going to stay in Phuket for Pattong area
if you want to know about things to do ..just googal gay bkk or gay phuket and you will see lots of info..there is so many things to do you will never have time to do everthing....i'm on my 5th visit next time and still discovering new places
if your 19 you shouldent have a problem meeting people but most of the boys for sex want something cause thats there job...but if your young ..they might give you a cheep deal ha ha.
or might be lucky and meet a nice boy....i met mine on my first visit and been with him for 2 years..best bf i ever had

There is so much more info here on all Thai destinations but this one Pattaya in particular, has most detail.

Have you made your booking and if not how flexible are you?

Tell us what you like and why you picked Phuket.

Then we can give you some great experienced advise.

as above, i think its more a case of mistake/confusion of Phuket and BKK. Phuket seems like a tipical 1st time OZzie destination-they even think its ''cheap'' there.
TRIpadvisor carries your same general Qs-and also from trueblood OZzies-by the dozen and more. Some old-fashioned thing named guidebook will also answer loads of nagging questions. Even when only read in the plane.
BUT now the bad news:
THAI disco's, bars etc all have strict age-set control: no minors below 21!
It wont be prob meeting other Thai lads-in fact do not go looking for them-they will find you. But be VERY aware with ladyboys (katoeys) in general-exceptions are always possible. And then be mentally prepared with ''discussions'; with your open-minded friend-once you have tasted these chocolate boys here, you wont want anything else.
