Death of Neil Armstrong

I read in the newspaper today and saw on the TV the news of the death of Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon.

Often I see reports of a famous person's death and I think ... So What! Am I alone in my indifference to some people's passing?

However, in this case I felt genuinely sad at the loss to mankind of such a truely great pioneer.

In this episode Neil Armstrong narrates footage of the surface of the moon from the lunar lander placed side by side with footage from Google Moon.

You can clearly see how the 1969 footage matches the modern footage from Google Moon. You can see the large crater the lunar lander computer wanted to place the lunar lander and watch as Armstrong steers away and looks for a smoother landing site. It is quite captivating
