When we talk about how badly things are going, one supposes that locals are desperate to find new gay tourist business.

I have sent to a number of venues the free offers from gay advertising, and yet again not one single venue can get off their arse to advertise.

here is one gay mag from the states that advertises all the best deals and for the 5 months I have been checking, not a single listing for Pattaya.

How the hell do venues expect to get traffic when they do not take up free advertising chances.

Innkeepers, want some free advertising? You can email us an article about your area (1,000 words or more about the area is ideal) with a couple paragraphs at the end about your property, and if it meets our guidelines, we'll publish it in one of our upcoming newsletters and let folks know about your area and your property. Or you can become a blog author on the Purple Roofs gay travel blog - email us for details at wheretostay@purpleroofs.com.

As Nicky's has websites all over the world, maybe he can take up the offers for the other gay venues he advertises.

Maybe other gay sites can be forwarded for those who might be interested?

Lonely - feel free to take anything from Nicky's and submit it to Purple roofs if you want. We have no problems with that.

I get your frustration about the venues ignoring the free advertising, but honestly, Purple Roofs is not really a big deal in the US. It's definitely not one of the top sites you would think of to get gay info on a destination.

About the only time I have used it was to get a list of gay B&Bs in Montreal and it wasn't that up to date at the time.

The other weak link in researching gay destinations is that there isn't any one that really covers the entire world! Like a gay tripadvisor. There's a lot of good local ones (Like Nicky's)

About the only two I know that cover a larger portion of gay destinations are:

nighttours.com

and

http://www.guidemag.com/

And both of these, while comprehensive, are not entirely accurate.

Clicking around... I noticed this site via a link in Nicky's signature: http://www.worthmediathailand.com/
