I read about the Vietnam government considering gay http://pulse.me/s/bGRKv

I'll believe it when I see it - I'm told the Vietnam regime is very anti-gay, and that many Vietnamese families will actually take their boy to the Doctor if he says he's gay.

I don't know about Doctor, but you do bear a striking resemblance to a famous british Matron

There has been quite a lot of talk in official circles in Vietnam of gay marriage. There have been a number of Interdepartmental meetings, and consultations. These dIscussions would never be taking place without the approval of the communist party, so l believe its something to be taken seriously.

Vietnam is a socialist country. (I have to admit, I had to chek to make sure and I don't know which difference it makes for the inhabitants whether it is communist or socialist.)

Officially yes they are 'socialist' but the hammer and sickle flag is seen almost as often as the national flag. Its a matter of words - The old USSR meant Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, don't tell me Stalin was a socialist. The commies hi-jacked the word.

...The commies hi-jacked the word.

Well since you've decided to be pedantic , I'll have to dispute your implication that the USSR represented Communism.

The fact of the matter is that the world has only ever seen a number of perversions of Communism.
True Communism (as espoused by Marx) has never been seen in practice.

I wasn't being pedantic. There is a difference between Socialism and Communism (as practiced by almost all "socialist" regimes). But I totally agree that true communism as espoused by Marx has never been put into practice. The ideal and the word have been corrupted, but unfortunately 'communism' in the most understood form is as practiced in China, Vietnam, Cuba, and as was practiced in the former Eastern bloc countries.
