Firstly let me thank all the people that attended Johns birthday party last night, you all helped to make it a really enjoyable night for him, he had a great time, hope you all did to.

There was an announcement to be made at the party regarding the Krazy Dragon.
Sorry John got a little to drunk to make the announcement.

In order to stop rumors and speculation, I will let you know what is happening.

You all know that the Krazy Dragon was for sale. The Krazy Dragon is now sold.

The Krazy Dragon will be changing hands at the end of 2012. The date to be announced closer to the time.
Both John and I will be staying on at the Krazy Dragon until the change over date, at which time George from America will be taking over.
George will be making a few small changes in the K.D. and both Mark and I are in full agreement with them.

Once again thank you for all your loyal support, and I hope you will continue to give George the same support you have given to John and I. We will keep you updated.

Best wishes,
Mark and John.

Congratulations to you both you guys on making the sale as this I'm sure will now let you move to other things in your lives that you do and congratualtions also to the new owner, who I hope has many happy years of profit and enjoyment from his new purchase.

Mark.
I wish I could have attended the party for John. And I add my best wishes for whatever adventure awaits you both now.

I am glad to know you will be staying on for a bit. I will drop by in a couple of weeks to have one last hurrah with you and the KD boys before the transition.

Mark and John,
I want to express my personal best wishes for the future whatever you decide to do. It's really been a pleasure working with you over the last three years. The Krazy Dragon has always been an iconic bar and that's largely due to the work you two have put in. It's changed from the early days ... if anyone has any doubt look at this YouTube video from 5 years ago

[youtube:36gpjpod]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWmURNUudkY[/youtube:36gpjpod]

and compare it with

[youtube:36gpjpod]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq003IPttQQ[/youtube:36gpjpod]

Thanks guys for all you've done for everyone around and especially for our friendship.

George
You've got a hard act to follow, but we've talked a few times and I believe you're the man to do the job. All the best for the future and count on Nicky's as a great supporter of everything you do.

Nicky

This is going to be a great year to be a visitor to Pattaya with all these new bar owners taking over. I can't wait to get there an experience the fun they will have on offer.

Great year to visit ??? "all the fun they have to offer " -- i dont agree with you there Bucky --

If they were that much fun in the first place they would have a hell of a lot more visitors going in the doors and the current owners prob would not be selling !!!

I think one of the main reasons bars seem to be opening and shutting ( KD being one of the few exceptions ) is that there are not enough customers going in and spending money on boys/whiskey like there was in the past !!

I dont frequent the bars in Pattaya a lot (not because i dont enjoy them , - but i have a long time BF who does not like bars at all and both of us prefer going to the clubs instead ) but when i do go into them i find them NOT a lot of fun - just bored boys / and few or no customers and over pushy mamasans !!

Thats how i read it ,i dont intend to be confrontational with this post as per the bosses instructions :occasion9:

Excuse my curiosity, but why did you sell the bar?

Excuse my curiosity, but why did you sell the bar?

I will reply to this one because its nice and easy, any one that knows John and I will Know we have spent he last 7 years in the bar all but every day with the exception of official closing days, that's a long time and to make a bar work in Pattaya that sort of dedication is required.

Also John Reaching 60 do you not feel he has the right to a retirement just as any other normal person and to be able to take holidays meals out ext ext, and no after working together over 30 years I do not wish to run the bar on my own or with a partner that may have different idea's to me.

You are all right it is very difficult to make a bar make you a good living but it is not impossible if you have the commitment the right staff and the energy to do it.

Regards Mark :notworthy:

Open Letter to Mark and John

Dear Mark and John,

What can I say other than I am jealous. A retirement now full of going places and having a great time. I don't think I want to be too far behind you and want to wish you both a very pleasant time. Hope to see you around someday!

Love your bar. Loved your boys. (Literally). Enjoyed talking to you both. All the very best Mark and John. And incidentally on two occasions in the past it's been your videos that finally tipped me and after watching one booked my next flight to Bangkok.

Best wishes to new owners,I hope you do very well. You have a unique product in Pattaya.I visit a few times each year and have noticed a fall off in visitors to K.D.
How that can change I really dont know but I really wish you all the best and will revisit shortly.

Well..... I hope you guys get bored being retired and open a successful bar in Bangkok or Chiang Mai.

Can I second that. I'm new to this forum, but not new to Pattaya. I've been in the Krazy Dragon many times and the bar is unique. I'd hate to see your genius go to waste. Here's to the KD2

Hi Everybody,

Just a quick note to say thanks to all of you for your best wishes and to let you know that the Krazy Dragon will still remain as it is. I have enjoyed it since it opened and want to make sure it is just as much fun as it always has been. I have spent a lot of time talking with John and Mark and there will be a few cosmetic changes to refresh the bar, but it won't change much from what it is now. The bar has been their baby and they are letting me adopt it. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to watch it grow more.

Mark and John are great, and all of us share the same vision of the Krazy Dragon and want it to continue to be successful. I'm looking forward to seeing them stop by just as I have done and enjoy the bar as a customer now and then.

I've already met a lot of good people at the bar and look forward to meeting many more of you as time goes on. I'm going back to the U.S. to wrap up everything there, and John and Mark have graciously agreed to keep everything running until I can come back in December.

Cheers,
George

By the way, i have not bought KD, we may share the same name, and we are both from USA, but that's where the similarity ends, i wouldn't want a bar in Pattaya even if you gifted it to me! but i wish him luck, he will certainly need it!

If anyone looks at the last 3 posts they will see that the username who purchased KD is Gthai and not NYGeorge

As for me - any such gift would be gratefully received!

Well, well well, it is good news for Mark and John at the Krazy Dragon. I have always been a keen supporter of the Krazy Dragon, and have seen it evolve over the years.

George, you will be taking over a very unique place, and I for one will continue to support the Krazy Dragon and wish you continued success with your new venture.

Mark and John, you have done a great job in bringing a unique idea to Thailand. I wish you well, in your well earned retirement, I wonder just how long your retirement will last, before you get yet another great idea, time will tell.

Very best wishes to you all.

I too would like to say Thank You for the many enjoyable evenings I have spent and continue to spend in Krazy Dragon. I will hate to see John and Mark leave but I understand that there comes a time to get away and do some the traveling they have always wanted to do. Best of luck to the both of you and to George who I am sure will do a fine job in taking over the reins.
