Friend is to stay here in the next day or two. He sent me details, and I found this google search from "a gay traveller".

Love the layout of the room.

In my last check in, I was enjoying life in Chang Mai. A lot has happened since!

Earlier today, we packed up our luggage and headed on a 4-hour journey to an area called the Golden Triangle. ItтАЩs a geographical three-way formed by the intersection of Burma, Thailand and Laos. On our way, we stopped at a few villages, temples and shops.

IтАЩm staying at the Four Seasons Tented Camp in Golden Triangle, which is actually quite famous for being one of the worldтАЩs best hotel experiences. To get here, we had to ride in a boat and then climb a steep stairway into the 15-tent resort.

Of course, using the word тАЬtentтАЭ is a bit misleading. IтАЩve had apartments smaller than this tent, and itтАЩs complete with an oversize bathtub, outdoor rain shower, WiFi and air conditioning. Each tent is spread out along the hillside, overlooking the river. ItтАЩs pretty incredible.

And then there are the elephants. Tented Camp is so special because of their relationship with the local elephant foundation. Visitors to the hotel help care for, feed and even ride these gentle giants. Tomorrow morning, IтАЩll be undergoing elephant training тАУ and then going on a 90 minute trek through the jungle while riding atop the elephantтАЩs neck. Pretty incredible, eh?

Today, on our way to dinner, we stopped to feed some of the elephants. IтАЩve never been so close to such a huge creature. And looking into their eyes, you could see a deep and indescribable wisdom that touches something fundamental in your soul. ItтАЩs powerful stuff and this definitely falls into the category of once-in-a-lifetime vacations.

looked really good until I found the actual rates. not cheap a place that beachlover and his girl friend would like.
