Hi guys,

Well, maybe a strange questions, but how is it with body hair and thai guys? Those I have met so far seems to trim very thoroughly or even shave. Is that normal? Or?

In general they are by nature of course more smooth than e.g. Caucasian guys.

I think it is normal.. I also have this kind of problem... actually this is not a problem, this is normal thing. Don't take it seriously and if you think or wants to take serious then go to the doctors and tell them this. They will solve your problem.

I tend to go for extended "relationships" (if you can call a money-based arrangement a "relationship" at all) - so I have noticed stuff that maybe others haven't when they take off for a one-nighter. Therefore, I think I can usefully contribute to this thread.

First of all, I dislike excessive body hair myself - and to me "excessive" includes legs! - so I would never go to Tawan bar etc - I would go to those bars who have what some members would probably call "femmy boys" That's not to say I want them to be effeminate - I just like that body type.
What I tend to find is in most things (inc body hair), the boys adapt to the market and the biggest market in most bars is for non-hairy, smooth bodies.

But, like a lot of things in Gay Thailand, it is often an illusion.
Although Thais tend to be less hirsute than Westerners they do of course grow hair the same as everybody else - so steps must be taken to make oneself appealing to the punters.
Bar Boys who take the "illusion" seriously don't shave legs or arms etc because, as well all know, shaving is a very short term benefit, in the long run it encourages growth and leaves stubble.
Spend a week or more with that very smooth thai boy you offed and you will often find him actually plucking hairs directly from his legs and forearms etc.
I was quite shocked when I first discovered this, but I now know it's fairly common.

I don't know, Kim's a whole lot hairier than me, and seems to be getting hairier as the months tick by. I could care less, but yeah, I think it's a false assumption to believe Thais are smoother than whites.

I think the clue was in the first two words in your quote from TotalTop's post.

Your bf may well be hairier than you are but TotalTop's assertion is generally accepted.

I think the quote below sums it up.

Yes, most fem Asian guys seem to like the chest hair. Many times taking an opportunity to run their hands over while at a bar, in bed, etc.

It makes sense to me. They are looking for a "man" (in the Thai sense of the word), and prefer a more masculine appearance in their partner. I am a top, and tend to prefer the more "Nellie, smooth look" for my friends.

I will say I prefer totally smooth. If not, some light hair on the legs, fuzz on the stomach is all ok as well. I really dislike stubble, like they have shaved, but need to do so again. For me, that is probably the worse.

Body hair, especially between navel and waistline of the underwear (sometimes euphemistically called "treasure trail"), makes me shudder in disgust. A nightmare is to find out (back in my hotel room) that someone I hooked with has body hair. I have been lucky so far (I remember only one case: hairy legs, no meaningful sex possible). I prefer boys with little or no body hair.

What a nasty comment to make - I can only assume that as you turned 60 the other night you feel you want to lash out at the world.

The reason it is commonly known as a crab ladder my dear, is that the line of hair provides a "ladder" for those little pediculosis pubis critters to climb.

Of course this subject is very much a matter of individual taste and fancy. It would be most unusual if we all liked the same thing. My preference is for boys with body hair, I find it very sexy.

And, thankfully, in all my years of going with Thai boys I am happy to say IтАЩve never encountered any тАЬpediculosis pubis crittersтАЭ. Now, as for those other pesky little annoying critters - mosquitoes, well yes, thatтАЩs another story тАУ IтАЩm usually plagued by them!

Before I started going with Thai boys my preference was for Spanish, Italian or South American boys so, I suppose, Thai boys remind me of them.

I like to see a nice hairy bush and I find a lovely hairy bum very sexy. I would not however turn down a boy because he had little body hair, nor would I be put off if a boy has only a little body hair as long as he has some pubic hair.

For me hairy legs are usually a sign of good things to come. I have however been disappointed, when returning to Thailand, to find that some of my regular Bangkok bar boys have shaved off their pubic hair. When I ask them why they did it, they usually reply along the lines of, тАЬCustomer no like.тАЭ OK I can understand why some people donтАЩt like body hair; well I draw the line at Chewbacca types, which you see in some London clubs, those with hairy backs and shoulders тАУ yuck! But I donтАЩt understand why a customer would prefer a boy with no pubic hair at all. To me it looks very odd and not in the least bit attractive or sexy.

Yes, Jellybean, to each his own. I like smooth but I certainly don't consider a happy trail to be "hairy" and the same goes for pubies. Certainly I would assume that many of us would feel that way and definitely the two pics above by Thai Dyed are ridiculous. Not too many, unless they have some sort of weird aversion to a bit of masculine hirsuteness. Perhaps this board has more of the hair-o-phobic than than the gay populace in general, but i still think the most addicted to barely-legal twinks on here would go for guy number one!

Did someone else notice that we quickly derailed from the original poster's questions to discuss our predilections. I observed this many times on these boards, and I am not innocent in this regard.

Luckily, there seems to be a mix of views, so that those of us who prefer those with little hair don't have to compete with the depraved types who think hair on a boy is attractive.
