Never having visited Pattaya during the dry season, I am not sure what I see as I down Jomtien beach from the 15 th floor. Is it mist, fog or smog? Thanks for your help. :8(

Is it mist, fog or smog?Definitely not smog. Since it's not wet I guess you can't call it mist. Fog is close enough, though haze might be closest.
In any case, it's typical for this early part of the cool(er) season.

When these weather conditions appear in Scotland we call it "Sea Haar".

Some even refer to a "Sea Hoar" but to my mind that term applies more to some of the bloated carcasses lounging on Dongtan beach.

Yes, sea mist in part due to the higher consentartion of salt particles near shore. The sea hoar has escaped my meteorological observations. How do we know smog is not a constituent of the haze? Living in a high desert, I never heard of sea haar. Thank for the knew knowledge. Love to learn something new. :happy7:
