View Full Version : I Pledge.....

I pledge to spend at least one night in the Jomtien Complex exploring the bars and enjoying their night life. I have stopped at the bars during the day but I beat-feet out of there when night falls to make it to the more popular areas. This time I will force myself to stay at the complex from 8pm till at least 11pm.

I don't like Drag at all but I will even go to the Venue for a hour or so before I try 3 or 4 other bars before I hop on a motorbike taxi to take me to walking street to flirt with the Muay Thai boxers.

(I hope this post does not offend any of the bar owners in the Complex.)

Bucky,

It's SGT here, you're not taking the Oath for president.

...I don't like Drag at all but I will even go to the Venue for a hour or so ....

Only an hour? I guess you're only staying for the opening section then?

If you're planning to stay for the entire duration then take a razor - you'll require at least two shaves before they finally "bring the curtain down".

Also - if a 20 minute selection of lip-synched numbers from some Broadway show that the owners liked 30yrs ago, gets too depressing the razor can always be turned to other uses.

My guess is your contentment level will depend on what type of atmosphere you're usually looking for, bucknaway. Jomtien's is one much more conducive to a relaxed evening, without so much of the flashing lights and thump-thump-thump of dance music. Some would call that "dead" - and they're entitled to their opinion - but there's plenty of flash elsewhere.

Jomtien is perhaps even a little quieter (decibel-wise) than Sunnee, but some evenings when you just want to have a lower-key experience that's not a bad thing at all. Im not very well versed regarding the selection of guys available in Jomtien, but I would think it'd be much the same as the other areas, too; most clubs offer a variety, if they're smart.

It's nice to see the flash and glitz of the BT/Soi 1/Soi 2 area for a while, but it's not a place you could really call "relaxing," in my opinion. The difference between Boyztown and the Jomtien Complex is like the difference between a big casino and an open-air card room.

Since it seems to be on the upswing - meaning getting its act together, despite some persistent problem spots - the best balance at present overall may well be Sunnee: go-gos (i.e. Krazy Dragon), nearby places for a nice dinner (i.e. Dolphin) and pleasant places to sit and visit while people-watching (i.e. Corner Bar), but Jomtien has great potential and is still developing.

It'll be nice to read what your impression of Jomtien is since you really ARE a "younger" visitor.

Nothing more and nothing less than there's reliable documentation that bucknaway is a real person.

Bao Bao's just trying to make a point about who's real and who's anonymous, Kquill... maybe forgetting that he also chooses to remain anonymous and is, by his own definition, a "not real" "cyber persona".

The other absurd statement is "you really ARE a "younger" visitor"... 49 isn't "young" by any measure. (Not putting down Bucky in any way).

My point was logic is better spent giving more weight to a level-headed opinion from a real person than from someone heavily invested in Googling and throwing up the image here of being a real person, that's all.

True, I choose to remain more or less anonymous, but I post about many places I've stayed and visited - and that's something toward credibility.

Anyway, hope bucknaway has a great visit. I envy him the time there now!

Bao Bao... the mincing around and trying to word your comments ambiguously doesn't hide the substance of your message.

Think about this...

1. The same "heavily invested in Googling" statement could just as easily be made of your own posts, your entire blog and of the other 90% of members who choose to remain anonymous.

2. Your own opinions are no more level headed or trustworthy than any others. In fact, I would lean to them being less trustworthy. You have actually been caught posting outright lies on a couple of occasions - something you tried to deny and hide.

3. Bucknaway's accuracy and crediblity has been heavily challenged before (I was not the one who challenged him and do not care, just worth pointing out).

So really... are you going to respond to every "non-anonymous" handle's post here to point out their comments are more trustworthy than others? You should do the same with Kquill, Justme and jinks. The same logic says you should also do the same with a certain incoherent poster since there's "reliable documentation that he's a real person" too.

Have you actually got a clear, valid and rational point to make?

Hey BL. 49 can be a lot younger depending on your perspective. From my view he's a mere child.

I thought it referred to tonnage... :sign5:

Jimnbkk... you are right. It's all relative but it's odd to call Bucky young when you have a lot of members younger than him here such as colmx in his late 30s and others in their 40s. I think it was done in desperation to make a point. I agree Bucky is definitely young at heart and that's why I think his posts are great for the forum...

I'm 26... cdnmatt is 29 or something... brisboy82 says he's 28 or 29... I think Camperboy said he was 24... plus there's plenty of members in their 30s. It's good for a balanced forum!
