What can I say? I posted a few days ago in the Forum about overcrowding on the Sukhumvit line (http://www.sawatdee-gay-thailand.com/forum/gay-thailand-f9/overcrowding-bts-mrt-t21570.html), and today there's a columnist in The Nation following my lead. Dave Sherman has suggested that the Sukhumvit line needs more carriages: "Longer trains desperately needed on the BTS Sukhumvit line (http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/Longer-trains-desperately-needed-on-the-BTS-Sukhum-30164480.html)" he writes, and then goes on to tell us the This Is Thailand response from BTS. Amazing Thailand indeed - not longer trains for every train but a whole two extra trains an hour.

What can anyone say? We are indeed indebted to you Thonglar for drawing this to the Board's attention.
Has anyone conducted a survey regarding platform length at each of the stations along the route, and the length of the proposed longer trains - double? Which are the principal stations at which travellers alight; the effect of inreased hoards from longer trains safely exiting the station and the impact increased numbers alighting from a single train might have on the local infrastructure.
Whatever personal thoughts we might have, to my mind there's little the likes of a falang can do about it.
