In a recent thread on boutique hotels Mumbaaihost made reference to a "new" boutique in Patpong near Patpong 4 which he heard about from someone at the Telephone bar. It is doubtful that it was the Silom Serene. I have started a separate thread to draw attention to what hotel he has in mind. Can anyone assist?

It's not Silom Serene. Repeat: it is not Silom Serene.

The directions I got were:

Walk out of Silom Soi 4.
Right onto Silom Road (so you are walking towards the river).
Right onto Patpong 2 (handbag street) (or Screw Boy street, if you prefer).
It will be a few doors down on your left.
If you reach Siam Drug you have gone too far.

According to the folks at Telephone, this a GAY OWNED and GAY OPERATED boutique hotel, with a fairly interesting boutique concept. Sorry the subsequent 15 gin & tonics erased the name from my memory, and I am not in Bangkok to verify this. Surely someone who reads this thread goes to Silom Soi 4, and could verify the name (and hopefully find out the web site and other info ) with a few steps... :bom:

Strand Inn, 105 Patpong 2 Rd, (0) 2234-4296

it is in the new development with the seafood restaurant and internet cafe downstairs between Silom Rd and Siam Drug - opposite the car park entramce before Foodland

prices from 1,300 per night for a standard room to 2,500 for a deluxe suite

it may well be gay owned etc but most of the people I have seen entering seem to be falung guys with bar girls like it is a short time hotel

no mention of a web site
