Gay Pride Paris 2011

On Saturday, 25.06.2011, I went to Gay Pride Paris (the first gay event in my life). Here are some pictures and impressions. It had a lot of political subjects, home affairs / domestic policy (gays are claiming right of marriage and adoption in the elections next years) as well as world politics (denouncing countries that still have death sentence for gays).

Boob alert! Do not look a the following picture if you donтАЩt like boobs! (There is a topless woman on top of the truck). Showing boobs seemed to be no problem. I bet you can get straight men to demonstrate for the right of women to go topless. I donтАЩt care, I find boobs as arousing as toothbrushes.

Good weather, a lot of people, plenty of shirtless boys (even I took of my shirt because it became hot, nobody cared). Plenty of lesbians.

There are coincidences that are h ard to believe. I met two (not only one, two!) acquaintances from Thailand at this gay pride. The first one I knew was studying in Paris, the second mentioned when we met in Bangkok that he speaks some French and had been to Paris before. Unfortunately, both of them are тАЬjust friendsтАЭ, so no reunion sex яБМ.

In NY I marched for the 37th time. We had 500,000 people and, of course, won gay marriage equality.

This year Gay Pride Paris is on Saturday 30.06.2012. I will go there again.

(this is a well respected and serious major FR newspaper)
1.Nr of gays in Paris-area with HIV is estimated about 19%-4% gets infected still every year-contacts in gay bars, sauna's, backrooms etc (they did not even use the French words for those!)
2.a long and boring discussion on some aspects of allowing gay marriage: that adoptions etc for str8 couples would not be possible anymore due to unwillingness of donating countries etc.
I assume this was due to this years Corso?
BTW- found a German magazine in Hamburg 2 weeks ago which listed and in the tipical ueberpuenktliche German style all ''CDP''= Christofer Day Parade, which seems to be the usual German title for it, in many major German towns-all during june/july/august. Even smaller towns like Saarbruecken or Heilbronn seem to have such festivals.

Gay Pride Paris 30.06.2012

Similar to last year. Good weather. Beware of sunburn!

Gathering was 13:30 at Tour Montparnasse, start 14:00. The whole procession took 6 hours. Estimated several ten thousand participants.

Seems everyone is catered for, there are associations for vegan lesbians and gay golfers.

I was probably the only participant who did not get laid that day, I got a sunburn instead!

At least I spotted a total of four cute boys on this parade (the previous year there were zero).

I saw GPP 2010 - -it looked just liked the photos of your other two years Christian -

I thought it was spectacular sight -- I hadnt realized there were so many different gay styles ( thats putting it politely )

I guess its a pretty well established event hence the similarity

But it was the first such city pride parade/march i had ever seen -- not planned ,i had been in Nice on holidays and was returning to BKK via CDG -there was a guy i wanted to meet (via GR ) so i had only allowed one nite break in the itinerary-and it was the wrong nite it turned out
I met the guy -we clicked etc and it was him who told me re Pride (he was marching in it also )
So the following morning i took the Metro to the station where he had told me would be best place to try to see him (didnt in the end -way too much noise/activity )

But i remember heading to the airport seriously contemplating changing my ticket and staying one more nite :crybaby:

martin911: 2011 and 2012 are almost exchangeable. It was fun. But it depends on the weather: I was lucky in 2011 and 2012, no rain. But this weekend I didn't go out because it is cold and rainy.
