Anyone seen "The Hangover Part II" yet?

Saw it a few days ago and it's freaking hilarious! I loved it.

It was filmed in Bangkok. There are some really stunning shots of the city and funny portrayals of the nightlife.

Be warned: ThereтАЩs full frontal male, female and ladyboy nudity...

I didn't think it was as funny as the first one, but the Thailand backdrop was fun. Certainly NOT a good tourism image of Bangkok LOL.
"Bridesmaids" is also a hoot if you get a chance to see it.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed Hangover II as much if the backdrop hadn't been Thailand. Same with liking Fast and Furious 5 because the backdrop was Rio.

Saw the trailer for Bridesmaids and it looks funny.

Found out Thailand residents will have to wait until Late August to see Bridesmaides. It will be on DVD at Pantip Plaza long before that :rolling:

I don't know what movie Firecat saw... but it's hilarious with a cute story line.

In fact miles better then the rather tepid and formulaic Hangover 2

I watched Hangover I...it was great...but I generally do not like sequels...but if the male frontal nudity you are referring about belongs to the hunky blond guy...well that by itself is worth the theatre ticket ;-)

Which hunky blond guy? I didn't notice any. The only good looking character was Teddy, the guy who goes missing...

CNNGo did a guide on the filming locations, which is interesting...

'The Hangover Part II': Follow the wolf pack's Thailand trail

The booze-buddy movie's Thailand-based line producer reveals the local shooting locations for fans who want to relive some classic movie moments
By Tina Hsiao and Julz Kay 26 May, 2011

"The different locations provide an interesting cross-section of the city," says "The Hangover Part II" line producer Chris Lowenstein, of Thailand-based Living Films. "Bangkok is essentially one of the characters in the movie, and we're trying to show how rich of a tapestry it is."

The locations are:

1. Phulay Bay Resort, Krabi

2. Soi Plaeng Nam, Chinatown

3. Song Wad Road Roundabout, Chinatown (drug monkey scene)

4. Ancient City (Muang Boran), Samut Prakan

5. Soi Cowboy

6. Sukhumvit Soi 7/1

7. Bangkok's Lebua hotel

I recognised Chinatown straight away as I spent a day there last year. Have driven past the Chinatown roundabout. Had lunch at Sukhumbit Soi 7/1 once. Been to The Lebua Hotel and Sky Bar a few times. Haven't made it to Krabi yet!

There's a bit of controversy over whether The Hangover Part II was a fair depiction of Thailand and if it will harm Thailand's tourism industry.

Personally, I think it was as fair as you can be in a non-realistic comedy.

I think it'll do plenty of good for Thailand's tourism industry. Some of the shots of Thailand and Bangkok are beautiful and exotic... others not so!

One of the main actors ( sorry can't recall which one) gave a media interview where he TOTALLY and utterly slated BKK, he said something to the effect of "that to in order for the stars to do their own research they had gone out of a night to some of the various shows and strip clubs etc and he claims that what he seen there had mentally scared him for life (he wasn't joking) and that he was disgusted by the public showing of such "depravity" and evil etc and he stated that BKK was it basically a hell ridden flesh pit which should be avoided by all decent minded normal people" etc etc.

So no doubt that outburst was a result of either one of two things in that he was obviously either genuinely a small time country boy who was genuinely shocked at what he saw ( not I find that there's much to be actually shocked at anymore in BKK as when you've seen one you've seen them all :-( - or more likely he was playing up to the Christian right in the U.S so that in and when pics came out of him enjoying his "night of research" his movie career wouldn't be affected back home or should the movie had given bad reviews generally - either way I thought it was a little shitty and high handed of him saying those things now AFTER the movies a hit and he's riding high on it's success.

Could also have been a way to get publicity for the movie. But yeah, I'm not surprised. Even the audience was a little shocked by some of the scenes when I saw it.

Very brief but there's the bit where the monkey bashes Chow's dick in the wake up room and a shot of a lady doing a ping pong show at the end during the credits.

Thanks for posting the clip of The Hangover Part Two movie Beachlover. I had not previously heard about it. I watched the trailer and found it really funny. I am currently in England and will be going up to Scotland to see my sister (real sister not Scottish-Guy - ha, ha, ha!) in a couple of weeks; she had heard of the film and also wants to see it. Seeing a movie with Bangkok as a backdrop will be the next best thing to being in Bangkok as I am stuck here in the UK for another couple of months.

I wasnтАЩt particularly surprised by the comments made by the actor quoted by NIrish Guy. IтАЩm sure he is just distancing himself from BangkokтАЩs seedy side for career purposes and doubt that ThailandтАЩs tourist industry has anything to worry about. I think any adverse reaction to the result of the forthcoming elections will have a greater effect on tourism.

Whilst on the subject of movies, I also saw the trailer for Green Lantern, which is released here in the UK on 17 June 2011. The Green Lantern was one of my favourite DC comic characters when I was a kid. The actor playing the lead, Ryan Reynolds, also seems quite a hunk.

Agreed Jellybean. I am also hot for him. On the subject of actors I'm of the opinion that Chris Evans (ex fantastic 4 now Capt America) is smoking hot too... :hello2:
