A straight couple I know who are attending a conference in Pattaya, asked me for some info on the Silver Lake winery which is in their convention program as a half day tour.

I have never heard of it but do not have a high opinion of the few Thai wines I have tasted.

Here is the link they found and the comments seemed mixed. Maybe some expats have more info?

we recently visited the winery as a side event to seeing the buddha mountain. we were rather underwhelmed with the whole setup and spent less than 20 minutes there. now whilst that may seem harsh we have seen lots of wineries in australia and also in the U.S.that you can spend hours at, tasting lots of different wines. i had always considered that wine grapes need cold nights and frosts to reach their peak, something that this region would struggle to achieve. the small tastings offered were rather devoid of any wow factor. just up the road is the chinese museum which is worth spending several hours at. they have a real terracotta warrior loaned by the chinese government and some fabulous statues.
