The gala TAKE CARE!! fundraising event that was hosted by the GANYMEDE RESTAURANT AND BAR in Jomtien Complex on the evening of 9 April was indeed a grand success.
Income totaled 63,250 baht, including (A) 150 baht x 105 people who purchased entry/buffet tickets (15,750 baht), (B) a generous 10,000 baht contribution from a good friend of GANYMEDE, Mr. Paul, and (C) the balance 37,500 baht from the lucky ticket draw, the sexy underwear auction and sticker sales. Considering expenses of about 6,000 baht, TAKE CARE!! will realize about 57,000 baht to purchase condoms and lubricant sachets for safer sex packs over the next several months.
Of course, special thanks go to the management and staff of GANYMEDE, who have now joined a growing number of venues in our community to host fundraising events in support of TAKE CARE!!тАЩs efforts focusing on prevention of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections: Bondi Beach Bar at Jomtien Beach, The Corner Bar in Sunee Plaza, Caf├й Royale in Boyz Town, and the Lemon Tree Restaurant in South Pattaya. The GANYMEDE folks were spectacular hosts and deserve more thanks than we can give them.
Thanks go to the management of approximately 30 Friends of TAKE CARE!! тАУ bars, restaurants and guest houses around Pattaya/Jomtien тАУ for providing prizes for the lucky ticket draw and the models for the sexy underwear show. And to the B-Boys whose energetic breakdancing routine truly thrilled the audience. Special note should also be given to the SEXY BODY underwear kiosk on the ground floor of TUK.COM who donated the sexy underwear for the show and auction. We hope that all can support these valuable friends by giving them your business and saying thanks for their support of TAKE CARE!!
To all who enjoyed the evening and lent their support, thanks for having a good time with us and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.
Finally, why not consider further substantive involvement with the volunteer members of TAKE CARE!! Meetings which last only a bit over one hour are held the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month on the roof garden of HowardтАЩs Guest House on Soi VC at 6:00. (NOTE: This month, April 2011, meetings are scheduled for the 1st and 4th Monday due to the Songkran festivities.) We can always use your willing hands and good ideas.
