connecting flight at Suvarnabhumi airport

I will be leaving Los Angeles on Thai Airways on April 27th, 2011. But this time I will fly on a connected flight to Chiang Mai at 10:30 AM. I am wondering do I have to go thru Thai custom and collect all my belonging, then wait for a check in time for a flight to Chiang Mai or how will it work ?

If your flight to Chiang Mai is also on Thai Air you can just transfer in Bkk and go through immigration in Chiang Mai. Your bag will be checked all the way to Chiang Mai.
