Centara Grand at Central World Hotel Bangkok

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? It gets mixed reviews on tripadvisor so comments appreciated.

I stayed here last year and was disappointed for what i had paid. No Wi Fi in room had to pay extra for it. Rooms not to my taste too modern in decor, bathroom was OK. I perfer the Sofitel on Silom Road for around the same amount of money plus the breakfast at the Sofitel is excellent.

I am going to try the SILQ on Sukhumvit soi 19, get rave reviews only been open 2 years and looking forward to staying there for 4 nights. Have a look at their web site and the reviews on Tripadvisor.

I've found at some these hotels with absurd internet charges they'll throw in internet for free if you ask them while booking over the phone and make it sound like a deal breaker.

You get in-room and lounge internet if you book one of the rooms with Club Lounge access but they seem to charge a lot for this (extra 2,000 baht). Club lounge looks awesome, pool looks great and some of the rooms come with big sexy circular bathtubs, which is a big plus... might give it a try.
