View Full Version : Gay couple moving to BKK

February 7th, 2011, 03:47
We are a gay couple in our late 30s relocating to BKK in a few months. Are there places to meet other gay expats for the purposes of just hanging out? Neither of us is sexually interested in Thai boys, so definitely not looking to yap endlessly about how hot some cutie-pie is. We are also monogamous, so not looking for sexcapades. So we are looking for friends to hang out with, go to the movies, have a beer, grab dinner, preferably in our general age group (late 20s to late 40s).

Loads of beer bars and some restaurants down Soi (Street) 4 just off the Silom road where you can meet other farangs (foreigners) ex-pats who will help put you on the right track.

You should consider living at the Atlanta. It is a perfect fit for you. Maybe the most perfect place for you to stay from what you have to say.

Thai Dyed - an excellent choice but I think much more suitable for Our Lady of Perpetual Humility.

Many of the gays who are retired or work in Bangkok hang out at: Balcony and Telephone bar (inside at the bar) on soi 4 or at Richard's restaurant at soi 2.5. The "locals" will be happy to tell you which events that are going on ...there is a walking club (forget the name), private dinners, and which concerts are happening in the area.

" ... Neither of us is sexually interested in Thai boys ... "
Wrong message board.

Your relationship must be made of sturdy stuff congratulations it will need to be because you're about to become libertines. No reason though why your relationship should suffer as a result given its solid foundation. :hello2:

May I ask how are you going about moving to Thailand as a couple? Do you both have jobs or are gay partners accepted same same, or moving over independently etc etc?

No idea about BKK, but if you're ever in KK, drop me a line!

Sounds like a place that is popular with church people.
