Now that all preparatory expenses have been submitted, the following is a brief report of the successful TAKE CARE!! fundraising event at Le Caf├й Royal on 9 December 2010.
The evening included a delicious meal prepared by the great folks at Le Caf├й Royale, the presentation by TAKE CARE!! of a Certificate of Appreciation to Dr. Philippe Seur of HEARTT 2000, entertainment by the melodious El Duo and the B-Boys Breakdancers, a sexy swimsuit catwalk and auction and a lucky draw and auction of valuable, sought-after prizes provided by several supporters of TAKE CARE!!
Le Caf├й Royale contribution to TAKE CARE!! for the evening included 250 baht of the 750 baht meal cost as well as 10% of all drinks and food served throughout the evening, generating 13,300 baht. An additional 31,500 baht was realized from the lucky draw and auction and the swimwear auction. Total income was 44,800 baht.
Expenses including printing, other advertising and miscellaneous costs came to 4,454 baht.
We are thus pleased to report that 40,346 baht was realized from this event. LetтАЩs put this into perspective relative to the costs incurred by TAKE CARE!! for the purchase of condoms and lubricant sachets to promote the prevention of HIV/AIDS. Immediately following the completion of the event, we paid an outstanding invoice to the supplier (Bangkok Health and Happiness Co., Ltd.) of 38,000 baht. This amount provided us with 7,200 condoms and 3,600 lubricant sachets, which reflects nearly two months of distribution of safer sex packs in venues in Pattayaland, Sunnee Plaza and Jomtien.
It should be pointed out that the more successful are our fundraising efforts, the great number of safer sex packs we are able to distribute. We appreciate, encourage and depend on the support of the local community to enable us to carry out our important HIV/AIDS preventive efforts. Sincerest thanks go to those who lend a hand and support our efforts.
