I could use some advice on airport accommodations in Bangkok.

I will be catching a very early flight from Bangkok to Bali and believe it might be easier just to stay at a decent hotel near the airport instead of travelling from Pattaya in the wee hours of the morning to make the 06:00 flight. I've done the early morning ride to the airport before and it was a scary ordeal. I could swear the driver was falling asleep behind the wheel at times.

It would be great if you could share any experiences youтАЩve had with airport hotels and/or know of one that will not damage my pocketbook or wellbeing.

Thanks a bunchтАж

I've used Silver Gold Garden hotel (http://www.silvergoldgarden.com/) about a dozen times, but I book online via http://www.sawadee.com/hotel/bangkok/silvergold/ and pay B850*. The hotel is only a couple years old and has a free shuttle bus to/from the airport terminal.

There's a minimart (Tesco Express) just in front of the hotel. The hotel gives complimentary water, but if you want snacks of other beverages, it's nice to have the minimart right there.

[edited to add:] *I see they now have an "Early Bird" rate of B750, as well.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like a safe place to rest my head for the night.

Queen's Garden Resort is only 5 minutes to the airport.
Might want to give it a try or at least a look using the below URL.

...especially since there aren't any Qantas A380s flying out of Bangkok to drop an engine part or two on your head.

International flights before 4pm should be illegal...

That would only leave me one per day. No thanks,
I need the options.
You can do what you want, but do not make it illegal for me to do what I need.

Huh? Do you live under an airport flightpath or something?

Thanks for the info. I was able to book the Silver Gold Garden with no problem. It seems to have a pretty favorable rating for a layover hotel.
