Well I'm here, after 6 out 7 days with rain in Phuket I find sandbags around the Airport terminals to keep the water out.....

More info, if not more rain later.

I'm assuming you're staying at the Island Resort and Spa. What do you think of the place. I'm planning a short trip
to Samui in Feb and would appreciate your comments....thanks

The Island resort and spa booked through websatdee .com http://www.sawadee.com/hotel/samui/theisland are around 2000 baht per night.

The Bungalows need improvement but are functional. Breakfast buffet included, on the beach with its own swimming pool. Joiners no problem, book for 2 , same price, security might ask to see ID.

My third stay and I'm content that compared to places around it's cheaper than most.

Looks nice... Is it walking distance from the bars and main part of town? (I've not been to Samui yet).

It's 100m to host/massage bar - K Club, 5 boys not much choice they offer a "call out service"

130m to Stars Cabaret (http://www.starzsamui.co.th/main-en/index.php) and 150m to Crystal Cabaret - no website.

A taxi ride to the other end of the strip and you will find the other bars, the ones I don't like.(each to his own taste)

Thanks... sounds reasonable. Everything within 500m walking distance then?

I've Samui's transport system is as bad as Phuket - they have baht buses but instead of 10 baht/ride it's more like 100 or 150 baht - so location's important for Samui. Damn price-fixing f*cksticks...
