It looks a little rural for my taste. I like a little more a/c and kitchenette with my accommodation. But then again, I am not the target audience. I think they are after younger adventurous and hot.

Good luck and have a great time if you go.

Never heard of this place. Looks interesting... It is also called "Fang Lagoon Home Stay For Men". Kind of like a rustic, mountain retreat. The hills and wilderness around Chiang Mai and that part of Thailand is really beautiful so I'd highly recommend a visit if you haven't been there.

It seems this place offers great cooking, local hot springs and nice scenery, spa services and a few sexy handsome "escorts" to pamper you LOL. Accommodation is basic but when you're living close to nature and amongst great outdoors nature like that's probably what you want, rather than marble bathrooms and a big flat screen.

Apparently it's website is down at the moment (they are trying to get it up again). Details to book here: http://asiancoop.com/2010/fang-lagoon-h ... site-down/ (http://asiancoop.com/2010/fang-lagoon-homestay-web-site-down/)

If I ever get so stress overloaded I need to flee from digital communications entirely this might be one place to go... clean mountain air, great outdoors, pampering/spa services, delicious food and handsome boys!

This blog looks like it's by a gay guy living in Thailand. Interesting - Never heard of it: http://asiancoop.com

Not sure if you need air conditioning so much up in the hills near Chiang Mai. When I went trekking there one December it was warm (but not hot) in the day and cold at night!

Doesn't look too adventurous... Just kind of like comfortable "glamping" (glamorous camping). Comfy beds with linen, nice outdoor showers, Western Toilets etc...

Seems I was too enthuastic when I saw the pictures of the...cough...landscape. Now that I have checked the price list I can not imagine going there. I am not a Cheap Charly BUT IMO 13 300 B for their 2 nights package is ridiculously expensive .

200 "Aussi" are roughly 6000Baht....why should anybody pay this amount for a "host" if he can have a "host" for 1500-2000Baht?? A complete waste of money..

I don t think I gave you a reason to insult me and I do not want to go down to your level. Anyway, in one of your posts you whined and complained about a boy who wanted a daily rate of 3000 B from you and you asked the members of this forum for advice. They told you the same "rates" I told you. Now you are going....or maybe you just boast...to pay 6000B for something you can have easily for 1500B or even less. So who has no idea and is silly? BTW I think I can guess now why the boy wanted 3000B+ "damages" a day for staying with you.

AUD$200/night would be expensive relative to local prices (not Australia!) if it was just accommodation. But this price seems to be fair enough once you consider what's involved...

The 13,500 baht 3 day, 2 night package detailed here - http://chaiprakarn.olxthailand.com/fang ... -104341985 (http://chaiprakarn.olxthailand.com/fang-lagoon-home-stay-for-men-iid-104341985) - has a number of items included...

- Accommodation for two nights
- All meals
- A spa treatment program every day (I suppose that means 3 sessions of massages etc.)
- Thai Yoga training
- Your own 24hr "escort" (ooooh!) for the 3 days
- I suppose your escort can also act as a guide to take you out to hot springs and pretty spots of wilderness etc.
- Most significantly, you get round trip transportation from Chiang Mai, which is 152 kms each way...

This is the listed price... You might be negotiate it down.

This blogger says he opted for the 3,500 baht overnighter package, which included...

- 1 night's accomodation
- 4 Meals
- Two massages
- 24hr "escort"

... I suppose he drove himself there.

Sounds nice. I've been wanting to do an isolated health retreat type thing... at a beach or some nice hills like this.
