October 28th, 2010, 07:56
Sky news reports today on major flooding in the northern Province of Lopburi, with 57 people dead and over 3 million people affected and reports that whilst Bangkok has not been affected in any major way ( yet? ) that flood barriers, pumps and sand bags are on stand by as the Government believe worse may be to come by the start of next month ( next week ??)

Any thoughts re this story guys re how it may or may not affect BKK or is this just Sky being their usual sensationalist selves to grab some headlines ??

From what I've seen, it's a major disaster causing havoc in many of the Northern areas of Thailand.

But in Bangkok it shouldn't be so serious. The river may or already has burst its banks and may flood some areas. But they're taking a lot of measures to prevent this with sand bags etc. Some districts may be evactuated... Not sure which ones. Rainy season's almost over so the worst may be over.
