As you say tj it looks pretty nice. It is a matter of biding my time until December I'm afraid. I've had a gut full of of the NZ Winter. Spring started September but doesn't feel much like it. I envy you your view.

Cheers for the photos

Looks nice but beware that polluted water.
What is the population of Pattaya and Jomtien these days - over half a million?

This modern day tropical paradise has tons of raw human sewage pumped into the sea every day ... all those horrid fat Russians and Arabs use the toilet just as often as the cute Thai boys and it all gets pumped into the sea where you want to swim.

And then there's the industrial and chemical pollution from all the factory estates along the eastern seaboard. And let's not forget the plastic bags and broken glass strewn along some beach areas.

The pharmacy near the police post sells a good anti-itching lotion for when you break out in a rash caused by contact with the polluted water and you may need some anti-diarrhea tablets if you've let some of that dirty sea water get in your mouth ... and don't forget about ear infections caused by the contaminated water - that will need anti-biotics.

Of course, you will need a different remedy if you've been stung by jelly fish.

Happy Holidays

Wow do you painting a bad picture!

I think Jomtien Beach is only good for running and lounging.

I'm inclined to agree with him, the water surrounding Pattaya and Jomtien has always had a very bad reputation for pollutions. It's best to just sit in the shade on the beach and enjoy the scenery rather than risk a nasty skin or ear infection by swimming.

Man... That's going to go against the city's desire to become a more "family oriented" destination LOL.

Mums, Dads, bring your kids to the beach! Come away with memorable rashes and infections!

The City Fathers have been saying that for over twenty years now so I'm still not holding my breath. Actually if one travels towards Satahip and looks out for a couple of hotels on the right hand side a little bit off the main road (one needs your own transportation) then for a few baht one can enjoy swimming in both the sea and their swimming pool. They also have quite good food etc. available. Nice places to go if you don't want the trouble of the beach in Jomtien with the vendors etc..
