Last week at Tukcom, I met a friend who had just arrived and he wanted me to join him and look at a new condo block being built the other side of soi yensabai.

We walked down past Twoguys and were both surprised at the number of shops that now have Arabic signs on the window, Just opposite twoguys is an annex I think to Moonlight Apartments. Caucasions not welcome.

He asked me was it a mosque. I laughed at first but later reflected and wondered how long before.[ shudders] Even a laundry had arabic on the window. I noticed a new small restaurant and asked what type of food and the reply muslim food, no alcohol not even BYO.

At the far end of that soi whatever it is called, the arabic influence was even more pronounced.

We walked back the same way turned into soi 17 with the intention of doing a circuit of Sunee, but changed our minds as we became depressed at the increasing arab presence. We walked past Sunee and noticed a very expensive new restaurant on the opposite corner to the Sunee 7-11. Marble floors , heavy wooden tables and chairs for 40/50 inside , aircon, full length glass windows and a patio seating 12/16 there was a lot of money spent here and they look determined they will succeed. More expensive fitout that anything in the surrounding areas. A sign of the times???

The sign says Iran but they label the food Persian. I noticed the no alcohol rule did not apply here.

We continued down past Howards and more of the same thing.

Next to the swimming pool in Sunee is the Arab only night club, or that was how it was referred to me as, plus a handful of signs as yet. Dont know how successful the nightclub is.

I discussed this Arab influx with a few of the barmy army and they said the number of hookah pipes in and around Sunee is increasing all the time. A dozen or more now.

I decided to return to the small muslim restaurant and enjoyed my meal and have returned
last night for the third time. Most of the meals are 180 baht and very tasty. It was a new experience dining in Pattaya with something new called water to drink.

Maybe Jomtien might turn out to be the beneficiaries or the Arab encroachment of Sunee.
The next 12 months will be very interesting.

Interesting... Isn't it in their culture for Arab men to, sometimes aggressively, chase after boys?

Maybe Sunee Plaza's value proposition is perfect for them. So now that they've discovered it and spread the word, they are gradually turning it into a place of theirs where they can do what they naturally do at home. Except here they can do it much more openly.

I am sure lonely wombat cannot control what another poster does on another forum..

The bonus system malfunctioned and had to be reset and started anew on gaythailand.com.
gaybuttonthai.com doesn't need a bonus system.
I have never seen the word arabification before now. Too bad we lost totalnewbie
a few months ago, as he was our most interesting authority on the subject, especially the
sexual aspects that interest most of us..
I hope totalnewbie had a great time in Thailand and regret I was unable to meet up with him this trip..

The sign says Iran but they label the food Persian.
:sign3:
Iran and Persia are one and the same.
The name Iran has been in use natively since the Sassanian era and came into use internationally in 1935, before which the country was also known to the western world as Persia. Both Persia and Iran are used interchangeably in cultural contexts; however, Iran is the name used officially in political contexts.

Iranians (Persians) are not Arabs.

Iranians (Persians) are not Arabs.

To look at Tv you would not believe that Iranians are not arabs!

I believe I have seen hookah pipes in Sunee Plaza. possibly the old memories.

Arabs come from Arabia, Persians come from Persia which is now Iran.

actually it should be named FARSI-and they are the majority, but not at all 100% of Persians/Iranians. Nearly half of Aghanistan also is and speaks farsi-or some variation on it.

Depends where you are. Here in Australia, they say it's the Indians they don't like.

There's a little bit of racism in everyone, I suppose...

He is very cute...but wait..what do I see? Could there be false advertising on the internet?
The guy is uncut..I thought Muslims were cut (dolled up in arab head dress the website appears to be passing him off as an Arab and presumably muslim) ...hmmmm...In any case sunnee should bring a camel load of such boys.

Not sure of the rules about nude boys in the main forum. How do you post to the gallery?

Here is a 15 second clip of the boy not nude
http://www.5starboys.com/b/08.wmv

What has this to do with Gay Thailand from a guy that has not been to Pattaya for 2 years.
If you prefer threads on God, driving licences, sucking on condoms, have a look at GB's forum which is just Thailand. Arabs and Persians are everywhere around Sunee but as yet not into
Sunee openly. Some of the younger ones recently have been prepared to glance back, so they are aware.

Which venue would best suited to bring an arab style number.

Well Wonderland is the only one in Sunee and their ladyboys could do a belly dance. But I think WWB male dancers could do it well. Several of their male dance troup have danced as females, and would be capable of an excellent belly dance. They are dancers rather than lip synch and their other boys could do harem boys in support. Reference was made to towel heads but bare top in see through harem pants and wearing a fez sounds erotic and different.

What music do I suggest for the boys to dance to?
Stuffed if I know. All I can think of, is there something in Kismet or Desert Song The suggestion of boys in see through harem pants was made with the song We're off on the road to Morocco"

The boy is not muslim. You could get cut boys from the south.
How observant almost all of you picked that out. I have had boys who are cut even recently, so it is not exclusively southern boys.

Had a PM reply to my post re is there an alternative to white undies?
gay-thailand-f9/there-alternative-white-undies-for-t20163.htm (http://www.sawatdee-gay-thailand.com/forum/gay-thailand-f9/there-alternative-white-undies-for-t20163.htm)

I thought it might be more suited here.

He suggested that boys in see through harem pants and naked underneath, offering hookah pipes as an alternative to beer or spirits.A little red fez and waistcoat, 100 baht for the boy if no touching for say 15 minutes instructing in the use , a bigger tip if you get into the habit.

What do they charge to use those hookahs in Sunee? As a non smoker is there an alternative to tobacco?

This seems more suited to say Happy Boys but could be the saviour of many of the small bars in Sunee.

I was under the impression most of the hookahs were used with non-tobacco items, like apples and herbs?

If you're talking about pot, certainly not in public in Thailand.
Hookahs in cafes are using cancer causing tobacco, usually flavored stuff, possibly more dangerous than ciggies.

Hookah smokers may actually inhale more tobacco smoke than cigarette smokers do because of the large volume of smoke they inhale in one smoking session, which can last as long as 60 minutes.

Narakmak a horrible link. Just when I was fantazing about a thai boy who practiced on the hookahs and what a head job might be like, you spoil it.

Also a frightening link not sure if I want to say thank you,but thanks for posting.

Hooboy, was I off the mark. I recalled a discussion of hookahs and using apples. I just did a google search, and while apparently there are apple-flavored tobaccos that are popular, a hollowed-out apple can be used as a makeshift hookah bowl!

Arabfication of Sunee? Who cares? Any change would have to be an improvement.

I care and any gay person living in Pattaya should care and no, I don't agree that any change would be an improvement.

Some changes would be an improvement and some good changes have been made already. For example I have seen no street children around the place for the last month.

What I have seen also though are hoards of young french born, n. african, arab, persian and m. eastern youths destroying everyone's quality of life around Sunnee and pattaya in general; that is, except their own quality of life.

Non 'arab' businesses will tell you they're worthless when it comes to spending money and anyone who has ears or eyes can tell you they're rude, loud, arrogant and positively dangerous on the motor bikes- machines that are driven at speed everywhere even on to the footpaths.

Improvement my ass.

That's because Iran used to be Persia - and Iranians aren't Arabs.

Referring to people as "You gays" is pretty intolerant.

Most of the people on here aren't racist at all - they despise everybody equally.

I was told by a Thai boy that they don't like Arabs because they don't smell good. Their bathing habits are not, apparently, up to Thai standards. I don't know, they're not my cuppa anyway.
