Accommodation in Pattaya - your favorite?

Many people like to stay in jomtien hotels, some prefer Pattaya. I think it would be nice to know wich hotels are your favourites and why.
I confess it is not only my curiosity: I plan to go to Pattaya still in 2010, and I'd like to compare some opinions and reviews about hotels, as I didn't choose one yet, though I am almost sure about some things: I prefer staying in Pattaya (central, not north), I want a hotel with a pool, my budget around 1500 bahts (but somehow flexible).
Anyway, even if your preferences are diffenrent from mine, wich hotel is your favourite in Pattaya, and why?

i see not many replies, can i suggest also information about all the nice rooms we never knew were around (above shops & business), that we always walk passed but never knew were there for rent....
