Budget hotels

Just wondering what the budget hotels on khao san road like for bringing lads back? Do they allow it or charge extra?
Also wondering is there a good street trade in bangkok at the moment?

There's lots of it on:
Silom between Robinson and Soi 4.
On Rama 4 between Robinson and Suriwong especially after the gogo bars close.
Around the entrance of Soi Twilight when the bars close.

As for good - as usual it depends who you go with.

There is reputed to be a lot of street trade quite close to you if you are staying in Khao San.
The sanam luan and saronrom park areas have Thai soldiers cruising around for clients.

If you do a search on this forum for posts about soldiers by a poster names pong you should find some info a out that side of things.

Believe you need to know a little Thai and have your wits about you for that scene though.

Also, it might be worth your while starting a new tread with a title relating to street
trade if you want info on that. Many resident expats , who would know most about it, would not open a thread called 'budget hotels'.
