Friend that stays with me when down for treatment, and unable to walk very far. I went off to the football and left him with the TV and the internet to keep him amused.
He found a link on Bao Baos post to his blog and said it was the most enjoyable thing he had seen for some time about Thailand.
I pointed that Sawatdee once used to have many posters like that but they have been all given up in disgust.
Congratulations BaoBao I visit occasionally but now have bookmarked the URL.

Just received by email a suggestion I look at this new thread by Mark Pompey on Pattaya including a 7 minute
video on Nong Nooch. For first time visitors to Pattaya should be of great interest.
I had forgoten much of the appeal of Nong Nooch.

I second that - bao bao's blog is well-written and entertaining. Always good to read other peoples' experiences.

I went there just a few weeks ago. It's a beautiful place. I just bought a digital camcorder so next year I'll have video as well. I'm amazed by how small and easy to use they are.

Yes, and these new-fangled CD's are wonderful, too. Have you traded in your phonograph collection yet?

Have you traded in your phonograph collection yet?

My last album was AC/DC Back in Black in the early 80's. Dad broke it over his knee one Sunday afternoon because he thought it was Satanic. I tried to use the defense that Grandma had bought it for me but it didn't help. :dontknow:

I'm not as old as you, dear.

Not judging from your photo, dear.

You haven't seen my supposed photo on gayromeo.com? Just look up "thonglorgwm" there.

Bao Bao's blog is great. A bit of fresh air amidst the fear and turmoil of political upheaval. A great reminder of why I always keep coming back to LOS.

On a completely unrelated note...

After visiting this forum for the first time since I noted the "Account Suspended " notice, it was a real treat to read some of Bao Bao's blog. It reminded me of why I first started reading the forum. It also contained a lot of the same bits of useful information or observations that I originally enjoyed with the forum. Now it seems those same types of posters are few and far between. It helped me to look forward to my next visit to Thailand. Thank you for taking the time Bao Bao to develop your blog.

Thank you. It's probably a little cheap to re-work a few of my old posts from here and post them on the blog but since the intended tone and audience is broader than SGT I didn't think it was out of line to do so - as long as they were re-worked and expanded or improved along the way. Most of us probably wouldn't invite family and co-workers to the forum here so it gives me a chance to share about Thailand with many others.

Glad to see the bill got paid here, though - thanks Elephantspike!

Well BB, I didn't recognize you with the new name and all.

Oh yes it's true..

"Some balls are held for charity
And some for fancy dress
But when they're held for pleasure
They're the balls that I like best
My balls are always bouncing
To the left and to the right
It's my belief that my big balls
Should be held every night"

Pleease don't get me started!

Thank you. I do my best to get something posted there every day, but miss one every so often.

Certainly no reason to run away from SGT and I check it daily, however during some stretches of active attacks here it's easier to post on the blog or on Ting Tong.

When I first joined SGT I went back through several years of posts, and there have been rough patches here before. It'll recover.

A bump for Bao Bao as I hope as many as possible read his blog. Interesting, actual, sometimes amusing, sometimes just factual, but always good reading with visuals.

Apart from that he's a bloody nice guy IMHO.

WHAT DOES THIS HORRIBLE PHOTOGRAPH TEACH US ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY?

PHOTOGRAPHY IS MORE DIFFICULT THAN YOU'D THINK! ::::::: ┬й Mark Pompey

[X] Study COMPOSITION and TECHNIQUE. Don't shy away from reading outdated books (Feininger).

Stop ... that photograph looks like one of my efforts. I do try but I am afraid I just don't have the "great photos" gene.

Hmmm... not sure what we were supposed to learn from it. People I know and trust who know composition and photography tell me my compositional skills are minimal, at best!
I'm always open to suggestions, though.

The great advantage of digital cameras is that you can take a lot of photographs - then throw most of them away. Even I get the occasional good one.

[X] The poor central motif remains in the shadows, visually touched by branches.

[X] Overexposure, the deadly sin of digital photography. Prevention:

Interesting, stop - thanks. Photoshop will probably do 10,000+ things, and I know maybe 10 of them.
Never too late to try to learn more, though, and this would probably come in handy. I did a quick search on histograms and found a couple of other sources, too.

The bitch for me is remembering it the next time I open the damn fool thing.
