When you have 20,000 cards to open, it's best to make an early start. The Queen, who celebrates her 80th birthday, began opening her birthday post in the Regency Room at Buckingham Palace.

Dear Dotty old Queen. I thought she went a bit far on tv's Sky news this morning when she was out with the dogs for a gentle stroll. I think she was paying tribute to MrSydney (BoyGeorge) as i'm sure she was doing the chicken walk and she laughed when telling the cameraman that she loves to make the 'bitches sit up and beg'. I also thought she was a bit over the top with the accent when she was talking about the 'Dorgies' instead of Doggies, turns out she has cross bred Daschunds with Corgies to get Dorgies! I think she did it just so that people would stop telling her she was pronouncing doggies wrong.

Poor Charlie boy, always the Prince and never the King, looks like Liz is staying on until they pop her in that mink lined box and carry her off to that great throne room in the sky.

God bless the Queen and all her other German relatives.
