Hollywood is one of my favourite places when in Pattaya and a while back there where rumours/ posts about it being sold off and closing in a few months - any further confirmed news on the matter would be appreciated as I am due out there soon and would like to know if I need to find a new haunt.

I have also seen these rumors on here -- yet I have heard absolutely nothing. Now, Thais are usually the first to know about these things and Niddy is usually quite a lifeline to the grapevine -- and yet, he knows nothing. Not that this is foolproof -- Niddy is not God (well, he's MY God) -- but, he's usually up to date on gossip.

Don't know if that helps or not...

Fondly,
Chris

I donтАЩt have confirmed news, just an educated guess. Recently the small exit road from Soi Hollywood into Soi 16 was closed and on that piece of land a shop was constructed leaving just one exit road into Soi 16. To facilitate this construction the two-story motorbike car park (recently built) had to be demolished and has been reconstructed on the northern end of the Hollywood car park, Now if Hollywood was closing or being pulled down I doubt they would have at considerable cost relocated the motorbike car park so safe to assume that Hollywood is there for the long term.
Just my thoughts, may be right may be wrong and time will tell.

Well boygeorge/bbb/msydney. Seems like you are bannned from alot of places in thailand. I guess we would know you from doing your chickenwalks on the beach or thru sunee or your barking like a dog or slapping your bf in front of the whole village and most of all your barebacking preferences

....... and admit that I got my initial "news" from by barber just across the parking lot from Hollywood. Went for a cut this week before the Songkhran terror and noted that the motorcycle parking structure that had been moved across the parking lot, is in fact NO LONGER a motor cycle parking structure. According to my barber -- and who knows better than your hairdresser!!! -- interior walls are being put up in the structure to make it office space for the new condo that is to be built when Hollywood is torn down. When?? All he could say was "soon". Other friends in town have "confirmed" the "news" and indicate that Hollywood is to be re-opened in North Pattaya.

Only time will tell.

All I have heard is rumour as well, but I've heard it through several sources, so I'm beginning to believe it. Apparently the landowner wants the space back for redevelopment, and thus Hollywood will need to move "very soon" (nothing more accurate than that, sorry). Apparently -- and this is again from rumours -- they are planning a new location somewhere near Naklua or North Pattaya.

It's a pity if this is all true -- Hollywood was a lot of fun, and certainly an economical way to entertain a large number of friends at once! North Pattaya / Naklua is just a little bit to far in the wrong direction in terms of logistics!

Hollywood is closing in the near future. And will be demolished to make room for a condo complex.
The motor bike parking has been pull down, the new building on the site is not for parking Motor bikes,
It is a site office for the new complex.
When I know the closing date for Hollywood i will let all you night owles know.

I might go to NIDDYS Nook and look for a BIT OF NOOKIE. Is WAT still working there?

Yes, Mr. Sydney... Wat is still working here. As for updating the boys' pictures, we have had two of them leave and have two new ones. I am just waiting for their uniforms to arrive before updating all the pics. The other waiters remain the same. Our staff is very happy at The Nook.

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Fondly,
Chris

Hooray! The sooner Hollywood closes the better. And when the new construction is finished I will be able to stay at "Day-Night" Hotel, and get a good night's sleep without having to listen to the "BOOM-BOOM-BOOM" all night from the disco. Places like Hollywood should by law be placed far away from hotels, and hospitals.

No, then you will hear the BOOM BOOM BOOM from the karaokes surrounding -- which were not quite as loud, but will still keep you awake! You may consider a more residential or quiet neighbourhood if you really want quiet (the reason why a lot of us stay in Jomtien) -- keeping in mind that that everywhere in greater Pattaya is a short commute to the Day/Night area if that is where you like to drink, eat and play.
