seeking asylum in the US based on gay persecution

Hello there,

My partner is in the USA on a student visa. He's thinking of applying for asylum based on persecution as a gay person. He's from a Muslim country in Southeast Asia. We've got a great lawyer but we're unsure about the chances of success for this kind of application.

Anyone else have an experience in this arena?
