I know what you mean, though not exactly sure on the bottom part they are willing to play. I always use that as sort of a line that delineates gays vs straights with the guys I've taken home.

I am totally attracted to the straight acting types of gays and straight guys in particular, as far as their personalities and appearances go. I don't want a fem boy, a ladyboy, a boy that carries a little purse or boys that have girl-like salon haircuts suited for a rave or punk concert rather than just an everyday 'boy next door' look. I think I trace this to being in love with so many of my straight friends in high school. If I want a girl, I'd get the real thing- not some pale imitation. I think that being bottom or top is not only something of being gay. Nobody is born as a top or a bottom. Every man, gay or straight, can enjoy the feeling of beeing fucked. Interesting post, been coming to Thailand (mainly BKK, Pattaya and Phuket) on a regular basis for the last 4 years and have always been amazed/impressed by the flexibility of the Thai sexuality and willingness to shift goalposts in order to earn a living.

Brazil ..Catholic??? Maybe nominally they pay lip service to the Church...but my experience is that it must be the horniest nation/people on earth.

No, I would tend to disagree. You donтАЩt have to go far to see that in the real gay world (Not commercial Thailand) many gay men specifically identify themselves as Top, Bottom or Versatile. Most gay dating sites indicate which members prefer what role rather than what they are capable of. IтАЩm not sure what the percentages are from these sources as to how many are what, but there are enough that specifically indicate Top or Bottom to assume gay men have specific preferences. The same becomes cloudy in Thailand, because of the sizable population of straight guys in the demographic for financial reasons only.

I am also one of those GWM that goes for the "manly" type. In the West, it is easy to find masculine, athletic to muscular gays that are not into the fem, girlie mannerisms. ln Thailand, there seems to be the concept to be "gay" you are not to be masculine, straight acting------but a skinny, fem type...even a ladyboy. (Which many of the visitors in Pattaya seem to prefer.) In the past I have had a couple gay Thais ask me if I am gay or straight... and when I ask them why they do not think I am "gay" they say I am too masculine acting, and "don't look gay" since I have "muscle". There are always "fem" types in any gay scenes and I suspect they're just more visible in clubs and bars (like Telephone) and more likely to go for farangs in Bangkok because it seems a large portion of caucasian men are also looking for them. As an Asian I frequent saunas and bars that locals tend to hang out and the mix is very much the same in other Asian countries, i.e. most guys are just your average men. But if one is more deposited to being "nelly" there's nowhere to hide so I suspect many of those fem boys and men simply don't and become actively gay, while your average Joes are under more pressure to get married.
