this is my first post... I'm just curious how common my addiction is... One member recently said that there are more important things in life than fucking rentboys - but this made me think that, no, for me there really aren't that many more important things than that...

I'm lucky enough to spend about 4 weeks per year in Pattaya (4 times 1 week). When I'm in Pattaya, I usually off 4-5 boys per day,
and, needless to say, I enjoy it thouroughly - both the sex and the boy-finding activities.

When I'm not in Pattaya, I mostly think of being in Pattaya. My off-Pattaya survival activities includes reviewing pics of boys I've offed (I've made collages of my favourite ones), scouring the web for pics of new boys (for example, Gayromeo), watching Privateboymovie and Asianboysxxx videos (my favourite being of course the ones with the boys I've had), watching other Thai videos, talking boys with a couple guys I know, and of course reading blogs, websites and forums like this one to keep up to date with bars & so on. Of course this all takes a good deal of time that I don't spend on more "normal" activities for a 40-year old.

So I'm wondering how many other addicts there are out there... can anyone relate? Or do I need heavy psychiatry? :)

I would advise you to enjoy yourself and continue exactly as you have been doing. Maybe try to spend MORE time in Pattaya if you can. It's impossible to have too much sex. When you've reached your limit you will be fully aware of it. It's called "the wisdom of the body".

To the OP: Can't see anything unusual in your behavior. Maybe that means I also need physhiatric intervention? Or maybe we're both sex addicts. Anyway, I applaud your stamina. My personal best was never more than 3 per day and that was quite some time ago.

If all of those activities take away from your other relationships or your job then I think it probably meets the clinical definition of addiction. If you can otherwise function normally but spend your time on this "hobby" I think you are fine. But if you are having trouble in other areas of your life as a result of this activity you may want to seek some help. All things in moderation!

I hate to be the voice of dissent, but if your situation is as you describe it, I do think you have a problem. Your behavior while in Pattaya doesn't raise any flags for me, but it's what you're doing when not here that causes me concern. Recognize that those collages you spend time assembling, the dedication to Thai porn, and Thai message boards are resulting in you spending 48 weeks a year living in fantasy. When I visited Pattaya once I did meet someone like this... he had been f*cking multiple boys a day everyday for a few months and was very much in this haze of f*cking, partying and lazing about. He told me about one or two other guys he knew were doing the same... one even more so than him.

copper....don't jump to conclusions, I'm almost hitting 40 and usually have a very moderate sexual drive (as in once a day) but when on holiday in a location where sex is freely available,free or cheap and plentiful I'm able to perform most satisfactorily 4 or 5 times a day.

I am also afflicted by the same addiction as Mark. I go to Pattaya about twice a year and when I'm not there I scan the internet for anything related to Pats and boys. As I look over the past year aside from St. Thomas, Grand Turk, and San Juan and a few caribbean islands, I enjoyed Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, and Russia. A few other places as well. I do vote for Pattaya as the place I have had the most fun. I know a guy who has a cabin by a lake and spends all of his vacation time with a line in the water catching fish that would please a 6 year old. He likes the lake and his pine cabin and I sort of like vacations that take me to more exotic places. Who is to say which of us is having the best time. If I liked fishing for small fish and the quiet life at a perfectly fine cabin, and he delighted in traveling all over, who is to say what is best for what is normal.

I hope you're right. It's just that this is a country that elected G W Bush twice. That tends to make me cynical. The problem is that the 'reasonable' people tune out easily in the US and sit out the important elections where the idiots get out and vote with a passion.

The future of the US is in its culturally diverse coastal and big city populations. LA, NY, Chicago,FL and SF all have huge throngs of multicultural citizens that were important to electing Obama. Unfortunately, his ignoring the progressive mandate they entrusted him with in favor of a non existent 'bipartisanship' agenda have depressed his biggest supporters. I can't say I blame them.
