I have only ever been for a massage of any sort 4 times, so whilst i'm not a newbie to Thailand... I am to the whole massage scene!

Once was a foot massage on South Pattaya rd
Another was for a Thai Massage - also on South Pattaya rd

I have been for oil massage twice... in both cases the massage joint was not a "for sex" place but in both places the masseur insisted on my taking off all my clothes...

When i was lying face down they would proceed to remove my towel and start the massage...

Just wondering if this is normal for a no sex place?

If it is normal... what do you guys do to stop yourselves getting turned on?

I tried to think of heather from Eastenders:

But even that didn't help!

Thats why i tried to think of Heather from Eastenders... Pregnant!

But if i am having a massage I would prefer a guy.. The girl i had for a foot/neck/shoulder massage at Halloween left me black and blue!

The correct method as taught in good massage schools is to leave the towel loosely on, with the masseur uncovering only the parts of the anatomy that is being worked upon for the moment. (The jewels of course would not be worked upon at any time, and would thus not be uncovered). At really top-end places, e.g. 5-star hotel spas, they adhere to this etiquette.

I agree that in Thailand, midprice places tend to whip off the towel completely leaving the customer starkers on the massage table. Why, I don't know. I suspect managements want to avoid using more than one towel per customer, to save laundering costs.

The boys would hardly be surprised that customers are turned on. They probably see excited willies on most customers they service. Consider this: Hetero men would probably ask to be massaged by girls, so the boys, even the straight ones, would be getting mostly gay men as customers. They've probably seen it all, even when they are working in places that do not offer happy endings.

The more likely scenario, by my experience, is that the boy would ignore company policy and offer a happy ending anyway, in the hope of an extra tip.

I had a nice massage-experience in the massageschool of the blind, two years ago. Right at the beginning made the masseur clear that I had to take of my boxer and he gave no towel. He gave me a very good massage. First the backsite but when I layed on my back and he noticed my erection he laughed, made a joke about the seize and returned tot the very good massage. At the end he gave me a wonderfull happy ending. The same happend to my friend who got his massage from a rather young boy in the same room.
When we came back the next day and asked for the same boys they brought us in different rooms. My experience was the same as the day before, - very good massage and a nice way to cume - , but in another room the masseur took his clothes off and gave my friend a very close en warm massage/sex-experience. So I like this etiquette of the blind, who see nothing but feel everything!

khun macaroni-also known as mr. mack (I think?) is the nouat=massage expert and gives the right answer. I can vouch that the very same method (but with a loose sarong/phaakamaa-like type oif cloth offered there) was used by my favorite masseur-who very sadly has not returned from his home since nov.
Also I found it a bit strange then (my first time no-sx oil massage) that no shower was offered before. The very little remaining oil was absorbed by special towel after a bodypart was finished working on-and this indeed sufficient (washing off the oil after a treatment is one of the disadvantages of oil/massage).
For THAI massage no oil is used-this is always the cheapest form offered-in many Thai places 100 or 99 bt/hr. No tip is really needed then or even expected. You change into a loose hospital type of clothes-most often ''fisherman pants''. But then this type has DF of me turned into a highly sensual art-form-and it still gets better as the years pass by.
A good masseur is also a very good observer and can adapt to what s/he sees. I have never tried a blind massage (tried to in Pnom Penh-but it went by appointment for days later-very UNThai!).

Why would you want to stop yourself getting turned on?

You enjoy that & they see it every day. They might even think something isn't working if you are not turned on.

The girl i had for a foot/neck/shoulder massage at Halloween left me black and blue! And you were stark naked for this episode?

At the places I've been to (No Sex Massage Places) they let me have my towel on, at least most of the time.

During my last visite in Thailand I went to one of those places in Phuket. I chose a little bit older and feminine guy who was not my type att all but obvioulsy I was his type of guy cause i could feel he had a hard on everytime he come close to me with his body. But it worked for me, I stayed calm, and I didn'nt get a feeling he was trying to "heat" me up, dont't think they do happy edings there.

My last evening before I was heading back home I decided to have a massage at the Spa of the hotel I was staying at in Bangkok cause I had to leave my room early and my plane was leaving in the middle of the night. I was pretty sure that there would be the same type of massage as I had have in Phuket becuse this is one of the better hotels in Bangkok but I soon get a feeling that this guy was trying to "heat" me up. I was pretty sure it wouldn't lead to anything and was thinking how I would survive a whole night in the plane after this. I was even considering when I was laying there if I would have time to visite Babylon before I had to leave for the airport, but I didn't had to worry. It ended up in a Very Happy Ending :happy7:

There's really no need to stop yourself from getting an erection. As others have said, these guys have seen it all. I think they usually take it as a compliment. Being touched intimately (even if not being touched on your genitals) produces a reflexive response.

I used to see a legit masseur here fairly frequently. He was gay and adorable but extremely professional. I never tried to stop getting aroused. We used to joke about it. But like I said he was totally professional at all times. Nothing at all to be embarrassed about.

I think sometimes the masseur is just being more relaxed/lazy/familiar with you.

I went to the same boy at this Pattaya place a few times. First few times he kept the towel. After that he stopped bothering.. even when I was on my back. In Sydney there's a place I go to... the first few times he was diligent with the towel... but now he doesn't bother until I roll over.

I'm not too concerned with being naked... I think the massage is better when you aren't restricted with clothing/underwear/towels.

I think an erection is pretty normal. If they've decided to leave you uncovered then they must be ok with it... as long as it's natural and you're not flexing it off your abs or something.

You can't possibly NOT get one with technique they use... especially pushing right up your thighs to your groin and then that bit where they push and hold down with with both hands right at the top of your legs on either side of your bits. If you're not already hard when they do this it's certain to go boink straight away...

Only times I've found it a bit odd is when there's a girl doing it... especially if she's attractive. I had one recently in Phuket and she didn't bother with a towel... even when I rolled over, just stark naked... she must've been enjoying the view or something. It was a professional place so I'm sure she was supposed to be using a towel.

Pong says that no tip is expected when given a non-oil Thai massage. IMHO that is just wrong unless it is not a good massage. 20 baht is the norm and more to reward a good effort is appropriate and certainly appreciated. No tip sends the message that the massage was not appreciated. (I have several friends who work in "regular" Thai massage shops.)

Well hereтАЩs one for you!

I went to a тАЬNon Sex Massage PlaceтАЭ on Silom, one IтАЩve been going to for years and I have an oil massage. IтАЩve been there many, many timesтАжsometimes with male masseurs other times with femalesтАжIтАЩm always nude and there has never been a happy ending or anything resembling foreplayтАж.that might lead to a happy ending.
Anyhow, I went there this year and in a doze I realized that the masseuse had my dick in my hand and was heading in a direction to which there was no point of return.

The manager, whom IтАЩve known for years seeтАЩs me out.

The masseuse is at the doorтАж.hands out for his tip.

How much do I give him?

December 31st, 2009, 10:22
The 'point of no return' I assume is a 'prostate muscle exercising' (my all time favorite description that classy male massage place in Shanghai used in a respectable office building!).

I'd say at least 1/3 to 2/3 of the massage price. I mean, have you ever thought that the masseurs have figured out that 1) its far easier to do that exercise then the usual massage techniques and 2) the culmination when the destination is reached usually quickens you out the door...not to mention the tip.

I'm not sure if your personal relationship with the manager/owner might lead you to not want to reward that behavior TOO much as the biz model is clearly NO SEX. That might affect your tip too.

The masseuse is at the doorтАж.hands out for his tip.Clearly someone who has gender confusion. I take it that the masseuse (female noun) was a transvestite who hadn't yet had the operation ("his tip") so still technically a masseur (male noun)?

December 31st, 2009, 14:33
Many places in Soi Buakao area now offer foot or Thai massage for 100 baht. 50 baht is the appropriate tip.

Well, that word is sooo rarely used in daily life that even I have to admit I did not know there were different terms. Surfcrest referred to 'male masseurs and female' ones early, which means he probably had the same idea I did.

Don't you and GF have a standing Tea invitation somewhere to sharpen your knitpicking skills? Good grief. Why don't you AT LEAST tell us what you would have tipped in that situation, given that you took the time to log in and read the thing??

Concise Oxford Dictionary:

Masseur: A person who provides massage professionally.

Masseuse: A female masseur.

Now you can really nit-pick over the gender of the 'person' in the Masseur definition.

Thanks SO MUCH for the clarification...at least we won't have to endure another insufferable GF dissertation on the relative nuances. For me, Mr. Google set me straight just fine.

For me, Mr. Google set me straight just fine.

Is there no end to Google's services. For most even ECT is not effective in putting them on the path of heterosexuality. Sadly the treatment does have some unfortunate side effects, as GF regularly demonstrates!

However my interest in trivia hasn't yet been satisfied by any response from colmx to my question of fact.

Hi All
Thanks for your input to this thread... have been travelling around Issan so not been online recently...

To Answer Copper Pheel's question:
I was clothed during the foot massage... and it was in the shop window
The masseuse draped a towel across my crotch before starting the massage
(Noticed thyey did this for all male customers)

In Pattaya now but not been for a masssage yet...might head for an oil massage later today and see how it goes!
