Hmmm... I want to party tomorrow night for Halloween, but does anyone by chance know of anything a little less farang orientated going on? We never go to the gay farang areas / bars, and I'm sure it'll stay that way.

Does anyone know of any small street parties / festivals / parades going on? Maybe they have something by the driving range, where they put on the Issan music festivals? Or if I'm looking for a Halloween party, our only choice is farang type establishments?

Couple of Halloween jokes to share -

Your costume arrived in the post today, sorry I opened it. inside was a roosters mask and bag of lollipops.... I see you are going as a cock sucker again this year!

I feel really cheeky asking you this, and I bet a few have asked you already, but, any chance I can borrow your face for the 31st?

Halloween is a farang play day, not a Thai play day.
In fact, very few Thais wear custumes, even in Silom.

Actually, we found it! Can't believe we missed it. There was a huge street party tonight at least, so I'm guessing there'll be another tomorrow. I don't know where... close to beach road, just around the corner from a Tops Supermarket. Tons of live dancing performances by younger Thais (think Thai version of Britain's Got Talent, but dance acts only), then at least one famous band showed up to play for a while.

Tons and tons of police though. Even while walking out, there was a busload of at least 80 of them sitting there, just waiting for the word that backup is needed, so they could come rushing out and start bashing heads. That was on top of all the police already inside the party area.

........ "HALOWEEN" is accepted as the modern spelling..

Really?

With one "L"?

I find that difficult to believe.

Maybe the day they taught spelling at your school, you were busy screwing a dingo?

Andy must be using the same dictionary as BU.

From wikipedia:
The term Halloween, originally spelled HalloweтАЩen, is shortened from All Hallows' Even тАУ e'en is a shortening of even, which is a shortening of evening.

Although I have seen it spelled with one L, I don't know the derivation of that version or any dictionary which actually uses that spelling as acceptable. Perhaps just people too lazy to use 2 L's. I'm sure the linguist Andy will apprise us of his sources.
