Here are some events happening over the Loy Krathong period from November 1 to 3.

Halloween Party

October 31st is Halloween and the big Halloween party for gay Chiang Mai will be at Power Boys Chiang Mai. There will be a special show from the cabaret staff and the Men of Lavender staff, fun Halloween decorations, Halloween treats, and a costume contest with great prizes:

1st prize is 2,500 baht and a bottle of Johnny Walker Black

2nd prize is 1,500 baht and a bottle of Johnny Walker Red

3rd prize is 1,000 baht and a bottle of Benmore

The special costume review will take place at 10:30pm with the top five results announced at 12:30am. There will be a special show at 9:45pm and at 11:30pm.

Festival Celebration at River House Massage

On November 1st, the River House Massage will have a Loy Krathong celebration. The festivities start at 7:00pm, and there is a special show starting at 8pm that will include traditional Thai dancing, cabaret, Kung-Fu, and a special fashion show. The River House Massage is located at the Ping River at 14/1 Wangsingkham Road. PlayHouse ChiangMai

The PlayHouse is Chiang Mai's newest performing arts company and a major new tourist attraction. The PlayHouse will open on November 2 and will present the Sequins and Dance show. Show times are at 8pm and 10pm daily and shows are 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Tickets are 500 baht. This is a beautiful new venue in the old Simon Cabaret location. Loy Krathong with Asian Plus Travel

Asian Plus Travel in conjunction with Lavender Lanna Hotel is offering three days of events over the Loy Krathong period from November 1 to 3.

November 1
Enjoy an ninety-minute introductory tour of Chiang Mai followed by a ninety-minute oil or body balm massage at Lavender Salon and Massage. 899 baht per person. Tours offered four times.

November 2
Krathong Making Class at Lavender Coffee Shop with history and krathong making. The ninety-minute class is offered all day from 9am to 4:30pm

Traditional Khantoke Dinner and Mae Ping River Cruise starting at 7pm and lasting until midnight.

Full day's activities is 1,399 baht per person

November 3
Full day trip to Royal Flora expo, waterfall lunch, and river rafting. The trip will last from 9am until 4:30pm. The trip is 1,999 baht per person.

Loy Krathong Party at Lavender Sky, the new beautiful rooftop restaurant at Lavender Lanna Hotel with incredible views of the entire city and where the fireworks and floating lanterns make for a magical sight. The party will include a buffet of Northern Thai specialities. Later, join a group at a special private parade viewing stand near the historic Tha Phae area to see the city parade. Lavender Sky to open November 1

Lavender Sky will be open starting on November 1 from 4pm to 1am daily and starting at 11am on November 7. This is a beautiful rooftop restaurant on top of Lavender Lanna Hotel and which offers stunning views of the Chiang Mai old city and walls and the Ping River area and of the mountains ringing the city. There is an air-conditioned dining room, extensive outdoor patios and gardens, and an upper deck with breath-taking views. There is also an ultra-cool lounge room, an upper-floor covered veranda, and a stylish bar serving cocktails, wine, and fine spirits. The food is Thai-Western fusion food with many small plates and special meat and seafood dishes.

Be sure not to miss the special Loy Krathong party on November 3rd and see the fireworks and rice paper balloons in the sky above Chiang Mai from your perch above the city.
