The Bangkok International Film Festival at Central Word is set for 24-30 September this year. I have been to several and it's worth the time. I have never wanted to make a film but find the Q and A sessions with the directors after the film quite interesting.
I took a look at all the Titles but not sure what ones I might want to see. Anyone have suggestions?
The tickets sell out but I guess there's a lot of VIP or Corporate sponsor seats where no one shows up and there's empty seats.
A lot of young Thai film makes come and ask questions of the directors. Maybe someday the Thai film industry will mature and produce something better than what is now on offer. I saw the Thai film "Phobia 2" this week and to call it bad would be an understatement. It seems to me that Thai film makers know the technical aspects of making a film but drop the ball on plot development or even a story that that makes sense. The acting is often quite poor and melodramatic.
