What's happened to my messages?

Haven't posted for a long while but wanted to send a private message to a regular poster but get a message that I'm not approved to post. I also wanted to retrieve some information from previous messages in my Inbox but can't get access.

What's happened?

Had to swop to Firefox. In Safari the "Messages" Menu button had dissapeared.

Kun Jon, no this has nothing to do with your browser - even 'Spikes favourite IE works OK!

I think it is due to the fact that 'Spike told us that he had changed the permissions of newbies sending PM's until they had made two regular posts to prevent some nasty behaviour. Actually, I think he changed the permission for all of us to access PM's until we had made another regular post. I noticed that my access to PM's was denied when this change was made a few weeks ago (didn't bother me much) but now I have made my first new posts for a while, I see that my PM access is back.

Is that it 'Spike?
