Thailand’s strategy to target high quality tourists pays off

Bangkok, 30 January, 2017 – Thailand’s travel industry leaders have voiced optimism that the healthy tourism performance enjoyed last year will continue into the first quarter of this year, as the country’s quality tourism strategy has paid off successfully. During January-March 2017, Thailand is expected to earn some 733 billion Baht (US$207 million) revenue, or an 8 percent year-on-year increase. Tourism revenue for the entire 2017 is expected to total at 2.77 trillion Baht (US$78.25 billion).
