Taipei Gay Marriage – It’s Getting Closer!

On December 26 a committee of Taiwan’s Legislative Assembly debated the second reading of several amendments to the marriage bill. At the end of the debate, the committee approved amendments to the civil law that would allow gay couples to legally tie the knot,
These amendments are not yet legal, though. A further debate before the full Assembly is required before the amendments can become law. This is now expected to take place before mid-2017.
