Voters in Thailand’s referendum have approved the draft constitution that was proposed by the military junta. With some votes still left to be counted the final official figures haven’t yet been revealed, but approximately 61% voted yes. The second question in the referendum also saw a majority voting yes and this now paves the way for senators (appointed by the military junta) to play a major role in determining future prime ministers. The military government and their supporters will see the referendum result as a vote of legitimacy for the May 2014 coup which
