good reason to get out of town..

Being over 50 in Pattaya is considered young. Over 60, average age and over 70,, just past one's prime
    in desirability.
I fear over 80, means the downward slope is in full force and over 90, is dirty old man.

Actually, anyone older than me is now "old" and anyone younger is "young". A bit egocentric but it works for me,
as age is in the eye of the beholder and we get better ever day until the grim reaper knocks on the door..

In the West, over 50 is considered living death and one gains full invisiblity from the younger set we find so
appealing.. Under 30's can see right thru us past 50 ites and we are transparent and invisible. This applies to gaymen in big cities..

good reason to get out of town if you ask this humble soul.... :cat:

    Reality check

Labeling people is commonplace, and probably in an evolutionary sense a quick means of distinguishing friend from foe. Get over it Rainwalker99 (and I do have a supply of dirty mackintoshes available at a special price for Forum members)

    this does remind me

of my first dear boyfirend..a handsome young psychiatrist who was helping in a major psychiatric clinic when he was consulted by the head nurse who said.."we have a problem...the older loonies ( they used that term in that day) are all sneaking out and getting into bed with each other and having sex..even some of the men with each other and women likewise..what on earth shall we do ???"
He brilliantly concluded.."put them all on the pill and teach them how to use condoms !"

He was a clever queen and soon running the establishment at the ripe old age of 24. ( by 30 he was a patient and barking mad).

Oh, I don't mean the endless flood offering penis enlargement systems, Levitra, Viagra and Cialis, I mean an entirely new wave of products targeting the eldersexual:

    [list] - Arthritis-friendly condoms.
    - Crotchless & Assless Depend Adjustable Underwear.
    - The KY DIY Home Prostate Exam.
    - Mega Ultra Vitamin and Mineral Urine Stream Enhancement Packs For the Water Sports devotee.
    - The Early Bird Special at rentboy.com
    - The Harley Davidson line of Jazzy scooters and wheel chairs.
    - The Leather Man Bondage Power Lift Chair.
    - And the one that will likely become my personal favorite, the Cholesterol-lowering Medicated Butt Plug - with a special glass cut gemstone to add that something extra and sure to attract lots of attention from the bar boys
You forgot the 'Final Insult' in growing old ... 'Have you thought about joining the Long Yang Club?' :flower: Can you use their member's card to get discounts on Rainwalker's list of goodies?

Beware if a Thai addresses you as 'tao hua nguu' which translates rather charmingly as 'old snake head' but means 'dirty old man' in a much more offensive way than the English expression. You are being insulted! If you refer to yourself in this way (most of us could!), your Thai companion would probably see the joke.

This has nothing to do with your post, Rainwalker, but somehow it's just what I thought of when I read it! Labels maybe?

    "'tao hua nguu''

    so that's what it means.

I thought it was something far worse.

    tao hua nguu

Literally "rat-headed turtle". Far less polite than "tao Jomtien" or "tao Sunee"!

Sorry to be pedantic, but not so. This is one of the problems of using a transliteration system as I did - it's open to misunderstanding. 'Tao' (falling tone) here refers to the Thai word for 'old person'; it's not 'dtao' (low tone) which means 'turtle'. Similarly, 'nguu' (middle tone) means 'snake'; it's not 'nuu' (rising tone) meaning 'rat'.
