ferry to pattaya

On a radio travel show last week, one caller mentioned travelling by ferry from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau and from Bangkok to Pattaya. As I plan to go to Vietnam after Thailand, one or both of these trips could be interesting

Would like any info re prices, booking and the problem of "fumes"which was mentioned as a negative.

There was a ferry running from songkla - Koh Samui - Pattaya. It stopped a few years back. There is NO ferry from BKK to Pattaya. However there are cargo ships from BKK to rayong.

i have lived in songkhla the past 15 years the only ferry is a cross the lake never seen any thing else
