Given the state of it some years ago, I suspect it just collapsed - literally!

It was a sauna quite near a university. It was related to The Beach sauna in Bangkok which also is nowhere near a beach. According to christianpfc's blog, they were named after a well-known gay guy with the nickname Danny The Beach!!

Side note: there is indeed a beach in Khon Kaen province, on Ubonratana dam, which is called Pattaya 2!
