HIV Cases Soaring in The Philippines

The Philippines is facing one of the “fastest-growing epidemics in HIV in the Asia-Pacific region,” according to a new Report from Human Rights Watch. Although many countries have seen rates of infection decreasing in recent years, according to the Report the Philippines has witnessed a tenfold increase in cases over the last five years, In at least 11 cities more than 5 percent of MSM are now infected with HIV. In the country’s second biggest city Cebu that number increases to 15 percent.
